I'd agree part of the problem is we have some bad shooters on the team. RJ has seemingly regressed with his shots in traffic, where these are now completely embarrassing. He used to be able to get lay ups almost at will. Now, he seems to be a step slower than he was when he first came into the league - and maybe that is him playing at the 3 instead of the 2, though that is the opposite of what you would expect.
But, hey, at least he improved his FT shooting. I guess you can only fix one problem per summer.
No matter how fast Randle tries to play, he just isn't quick with the decisions. And to me, that is on the coach to realize he is not Larry Bird or Magic Johnson, and we should provide him a narrower circle to operate from within so he can have less things to think about.
3pt defense has been an issue for as long as Thibs was here - there was an article I read which said that the lock out year - we weren't closer to anyone on the line, it's just folks missed more.
I honestly would like to see Randle and RJ to the bench with the 2nd unit. If contracts and 'stars' weren't an issue, like this were a college program- that would have already happened.
But EGOS!
I'd like to see Cam - not that I am excited about him, he has his issues- and Obi in the starting line up. Then RJ, Randle, Hart and IQ off the bench.
And at some point this 10 or 11 man rotation has to give way because I do believe there is some truth to the fact that guys need a certain level of minutes/regularity.
