Mitch only played 13 minutes, with 2 rebounds and 4 pts (-7). Meanwhile, Hartenstein played 40 minutes (most of any player) with 8 rebounds, 16 pts, and 4 assts. (+1)

Is Mitch hurt?

5 fouls.

Did you actually watch the game? Except for the last play charge call - anyone even breathing in the vicinity of Ja last night was called for a foul. That being said, Mitch needed to be more mindful of a few careless fouls last night.

iHart was big part of comeback in 3rd. Thibs rewarded it.
He needed to pull Adams out of the paint.

How I see it as well. Mitch wasnt moving the needle. One of those games where its better to sit Mitch before he gets hurt.

Solely foul trouble. Ja kept going straight at Robinson every time he checked in. A great old school technique. Gave Adams free reign over the boards. Hart couldn’t body Adams the way Mitch could.

I didn’t see it as rewarding anything so much as necessity. When Hart threw the ball to his dead ancestors he stayed in the game.

Adams is just a beast and gives a ton of teams, including us, trouble. I don't know that we have an answer.

Harts offense in the paint opened things up a bit. We saw this with Noel a few years back but Isiah is better at this. Mitch can’t do this. Granted, Adams is a monster but he sets great picks and frees up space for his guys. The play that leads to the play. The first points were RJ “looked bad”, in part was Adams got the help defense out and Jah had an open lane. We only see the “Damn, RJ messed up”. It was mitch that was to help on the play and he got there too late.
Blame. Nope, Memphis ran the play with precision. Sometimes you flat out get beat.

Im not breaking down film but nobody here really is either. So we react.
Teams are not names you can move in and out, there is nuance and system. That Jenkinsl can run in rookies and plug them in depicts a good system and team. They are getting that Miami vibe were guys keep filling in. 20-5 without Jah last year gives you this glimpse. They were missing two starters and they executed plays brilliantly when they needed to.

Thibs is trying to get us there. The notion of “Do things if yoru shots not falling” translated is “Play in the system”. Randle is not back in this fold. RJ should have kept shooting because he has a history of comeing around and getting hot. Brunsons inclusion will need time. He now drives this bus.
Knicks lost in overtime but they really did not execute well at all most of the game. They came back from 19pt deficit and showed up.

Mitch had his hands full with Adams and switching to Jah. Guess what, they are really good!!!!
Maybe he and RJ were hyped on national TV and with new contract they were jacked up.
Randle looked like he was in control and chill. Brunson calmed down in second half and they looked much better.

This is the kind of team that shot blocking centers, prone to foul trouble, struggle in. Teams with attacking athletic elite wings and a strong physical center that gives you the chicken wing hold everytime. MR had no chance.
In foul trouble before the game started. Kid just needs to learn sometimes it's not about blocking every shot but about staying on the floor and keeping that defensive presence. Do have to be fair, as mentioned, he was going against some top foul creators. Think he will bounce back and be that defensive presence and continue to create havoc on the offensive boards.

Word. Addams is one of the top centers in the game. It shouldnt be surprising that Westbrook never looked as good as when he played with Addams.

Feel like with a guy like Adams and then a PG like Ja who the refs where giving all the calls too, it was inevitable that Mitch was gonna struggle with fouls.

It was the perfect storm of opponents. He'll beast against most all other teams.

Hart had a play where he just tossed it to an empty portion of the court. Some anticipation that a player was going to reverse that didn't happen. Just threw the ball to no one. My sad attempt at comic relief.
