Preseason is over. Baring a big trade the roster is set.

As to how good this team can be? We had a soft preseason. Thibs uses the games to get his team ready, not as an audition or lab to experiment. Logic says Brunson adds 5 wins? Better Randle and Mitch 3 wins?
The team was better on the road last year than at home. Also how does one quantify how improved the east is along with out improvement.

The pundits all say knicks are better. That they are deep with “NBA PLAYERS”. Im not seeing any hate when measured against the other teams to say we compete for a play in spot. Nobody says we are a fit for damnation or discounts we could be a bit upside surprise. We have no bonafide allstar or true alpha.

We all have our opinions. Randle is a better player NOT being that. RJ can and will put up points. Brunson is a second tier hell of a ball player but not a put on your back for a whole season kind of PG. He will make us better. He is Nash light, dribble about in the paint and create movement, leave him alone he will hit the shot. His leadership bring a calm directive and the voice of his coach to the floor and lockeroom.

I expect .500 give or take. I want more. But I have expectations…. I’ll go 41-41. No sexy proclaimations of upside or tank thoughts.

Yeah, I think .500 is the ballpark, and I would take the over. Of course better or worse is likely contingent on unforeseen circumstances, for bad or good.

Hey, maybe the Knicks can have a year like the NY football Giants. All the geniuses that know it all in the media thought they were a push over in a dumpster fire division. And yet they refuse to play like the media’s punch line.

I want this for my NY Knicks.

I can’t predict the exact game but over .500 and less the 55. A winning season should be the goal then move on from there.

I think we start off 14-9 make a trade while others start to tank and win 36 more

50-32. 3 games behind philly 5 seed

I will reserve the right to get cranky as I age if we sck and I will remind Knicks management that we simply should’ve taken a player at 13 to hedge downside results. I’m not big on firing coaches not my gig. We won’t get much better than thibs

Sorry to be "aquafiestas" here, but I think our ceiling likely 42 wins - so just over .500, given likelihood of down time for injuries (e.g., DRose, et al). But I also think it will be a building year and possibly turning point.

Hope I am wrong.

I think Brunson is good for about 4-5 extra wins from last season so 41-42 wins is fair.
