Funny thing about moving is you take all the memories away. You take them with you. The building does not hold memories, minds do!

The story of the Penn Station and its demise is awful. Robert Moses and city leaders thought Rail was dying and of course they were building roads like crazy back in the day. NYC never did a good job preserving its history but instead was into "Progress" and tearing down the old and build the new. The original Penn station was a massive marvel. The Garden built in its place and the train stations made below ground was a good idea but did not age well. Rail made a comeb ack.
MSG is the oldest NBA arena. The massive renovations have kept it top notch.
Personally with what Dolan is doing with his "sphere" I'd be very curious if it was a private building what could be incorporated with that tech if even desired. I have not been to Barkleys or Islanders new palace to compare. MSG lower pinwheel ceiling and the bridge are very unique. I would hope something could be built that is both a landmark architecture and bring the fan the most up to date experience possible.

A new building would not diminish my memories. The Banners would come to the new place and remind us of the past.

The Mayor should focus on a plan that keeps large parts of NYC from being submerged. Due to global warming, storms. Hurricane Sandy, lower Manhattan underwater, parts of Queens underwater. Was a preview. The infrastructure cant handle it.

A new MSG is about making rich people richer, nothing else. Addams should be talking about more affordable housing. He's no better than DeBlasio.
