![]() I dig the Garden and this history.
Funny thing about moving is you take all the memories away. You take them with you. The building does not hold memories, minds do! Fan reaction is the bulk of this story. True about much media stuff. "Reactions" become the story! WE see it every day. The story of the Penn Station and its demise is awful. Robert Moses and city leaders thought Rail was dying and of course they were building roads like crazy back in the day. NYC never did a good job preserving its history but instead was into "Progress" and tearing down the old and build the new. The original Penn station was a massive marvel. The Garden built in its place and the train stations made below ground was a good idea but did not age well. Rail made a comeb ack. A new building would not diminish my memories. The Banners would come to the new place and remind us of the past. |
