This is how much Marc has sold out to some agent or someone.

Someone remind me why these guys think they are even deserving of being asked to a press conference?

https://nypost.com/2022/09/15/how-the-knicks-fumbled-its-long-pursuit-of-donovan-mitchell/

Fight for Dwight

“Superman’’ still is a free agent, and the Knicks have two open roster spots, as I reported in Thursday’s print edition.

They could do worse at center than using one of those openings on Dwight Howard, who has played 1,242 career games.

A three-time Defensive Player of the Year, Dwight Howard could serve as a tutor for the Knicks’ young big men.

Howard logged 17 productive minutes a game last year for an otherwise disappointing Lakers squad. Playing time in New York may not be assured unless injuries occur (Mitchell Robinson has never been durable), but the 36-year-old former All-Star could be valuable as a defensive mentor to the Knicks’ three young centers. Robinson and new signee Isaiah Hartenstein are both 24, and second-year man Jericho Sims is 23.

According to a source, Howard, who has averaged 15.7 points, 11.8 rebounds and 1.8 blocks over the course of his career, would love to be on Broadway, so it could be a no-brainer. Which means it probably won’t happen.

Cannot think of one center in the league who I would want less then Howard to "tutor" our centers. Please keep that man far away. I miss Taj

Berman has been a stirring the pot and making up bs for over 20 years now. I don't even bother reading his made up bs.

Sometimes you get slow news days and you throw up a press release. But would have hurt to get a "source" from the Knicks or another exec on why a signing would or wouldn't make sense? Just lazy...

Same. It was nice when he took a hiatus. Hope everything is well with him personally, but I prefer the Knicks having a press corp that actually likes the team. He points out how he doesn't get access, but if I had a person coming to my house that talked smack about me to my wife, kids and neighbors, I wouldn't invite that person back. You can say that its truth in reporting, but let's be honest, the Post is a tabloid. They aren't out there for truth in reporting. I click the bait anyway, but refuse to unlock the paywall.

You know I gonna spin wit it

I won't pay a dime for NY post. His article today is about "How the knicks fumbled" the DM pursuit. Now, at the end of the day at best its subjective. I really do like DM and can't fault us for making a move to get him. Just like we tried to get Gordon Haywood or others at price below what the market was at that moment. DM and Haywood went for more.
Sometimes it works. More often not. But you keep at it.
Was listening to the Woj podcast and he interviewed DM. Yeah, I wanted that guy! But, there is a price. Dont' have to "steal him" but Danny was asking for a lot and he got what wanted.
Leon thought otherwise. I'm cool with it.

If anyone can repost Bermans take I'd read it.
But lets be clear, there are many fans that eat this **** up. one can smell it around here too with some posters implying things they no little of or take the worst slant possible.
Knicks don't have a good track record with many things so its easy to do.

Dwight has had a long career and perhaps his personality has changed back and forth. He has had some bad takes but he might be ok these days. I don't know. Any more is inciting bull****. He don't fit in our timeline and Berman need only go there.
Statistically he is likely HOF some day.

On a contender, I would consider Howard as a backup. He's shown he can help a team when his head is in the game. But on a team just trying to make the playoffs. I see the second coming of JR Smith. Someone who wont take his role seriously.

Berman has been stirring the pot alright. Also the cookie batter bowl, dumpling mix, ice cream maker, donut mixing bowl. Lots of edibles.

Such a big waist of space.

Stupid suggestion. I would rather Melo before Howard, and I don’t want Melo either. I guess Berman had to write about something.

Our Centers are Mitch, iHart and Simms. Plenty of depth. What we could use is someone on staff to help develop those bigs, kind of like Hakeem on the Rockets. We don't need a forth center on the roster. Berman seems to have lost his touch with reality

Exactly. The Knicks just extended MR. Signed Hart. Not to mention Sims showed impressive glimpses in his first season. Bermans so called insight would have made some sense last year but zero sense today.

You guys do know that Berman covered tennis right? He also is like 5'1 and 280lbs. Does anyone really think anyone from the Knicks is talking to him besides the concession stands people. Mostly cuz he keeps buying up all the hotdogs.

The last big to have a good off-season with tangible results was.....hmmm, I'd have to say Amare when he came back with some nice post moves after having spent that one summer under Hakeem's tutelage.( No, Mitchell Robinson stopping fouling doesn't count, it's like beating your chest and saying " I feed my kids"- shut up, you are supposed to) Later the Rocket management disallowed Hakeem to work with players outside of their organization. So to answer your question is it seems like it's both if we were to make a judgement based on results
