47 wins? i tell ya what. if we are good enough to win 47 games, then we are good enough to beat the Rockets who are 4-5--just got BEAT by the Hawks and are averaging an NBA low 81 points per game. the rockets are a paultry 2-2 # home, we have a full day of rest+ there was very little travel involved. 47 wins===winning this game IMHO. You CANNOT be a 47 win team and lose games like this. you cant have losing streaks--you need multiple 5-6 game winnings treaks. are we good enough to have multiple winning streaks? uh NO. Go watch the tape against Boston a few times. we have close to the worst D in the ENTIRE NBA statwise. how does that compute into 47 wins? osmosis?

probably the same way the Heat won their games last year. Lets see... I believe they started 4-12 and 10-20, but I could be wrong. I also believe they won 18 of 21 at one point and finished with 45 wins. Rather than panicking because they had very little off the bench and they were undersized at almost every position up front they had patience and it paid off.

I would like to have seen your reaction had I predicted 45 plus wins for Mia last year after the start they had.

Houston, KT, Sweetney.. those are the remaining players from last year's opening roster. Yet people (who should know better) give this team NO learning curve, no adjustment period when recent NBA history again and again proves new groups of players take time to adjust to each other. Memphis proved it, the Heat last year, Det going from 32-50 to 50-32, Seattle may be proving it now, the Cavs may be proving it... on and on and on.

I'm sure there is some excuse why all these other teams can adjust and grow chemisty over time and the Knicks cant, but I dont really care about that.

Do I think this is a title caliber team? Not even close, do I think that Marbury, Crawford, Houston, TT, KT, Sweetney, JYD, Ariza, Nazr, Penny and Baker can develop enough chemistry though an 82 game season to win 45 games? Yes I do... but thats just silly old me.

Osmosis indeed.

Why do I have to watch the Bos game over and over? Why cant I watch the Clippers and Phili games over and over?

this team is not good enough at any point as constucted to have a winning streak of 18-3. Lets beat the Rockets--being consistent and winning games on the road is a major component of a winning team.

Ok, the two people who put 30-34 wins, explain yourselves!

45 sounds about right. I haven't seen anything yet this season that would change my prediction. I wouldn't be surprised if we started 2-6 either based on our schedule and people starting panicking and proposing Marbury for Eisley trades.

hope for the best, expect the worst.

33-49

As far as the record is concerned, it doesn't matter what Crawford, Ariza and Sweet does. If the defense has gotten weaker this season compared to last, we'll have a worse record. Mutombo would have helped a lot.

The Knicks played their best ball last year without Mutombo and their worst ball with him. Losing him doesn't hurt the team. Five years ago losing Mutombo would hurt any team, but now that he's around sixty years old, it's a different story.

Watch, we'll foolishly win against Toronto, Charlotte, and Atlanta, and end up with the reocrd of 33-49 as I predicted.

Defense wins games. We could have used Mutombo too.

This most likely means we'll get the 8th draft position.

Nearly all of us, including me, were way off obviously for this season. I think the change in TT's game was the biggest reason, although the overall improvement of the east hurt the Knicks too.
