Knicks trade Randle, Fournier, Rose, Cam, 1st rounder protected, 2nd rounder

Receive Mikal Bridges, Crowder

Lakers trade Russell, 1st round unprotected

Receive Fournier, Cam, Saric, Knicks 1st round protected, 2nd rounder

Suns trade Mikal, Saric, Crowder

Receive Randle, Rose, Lakers 1st rounder unprotected

Knicks get rid of vets end up with

Brunson/IQ
RJ/Grimes/IQ
Mikal/Grimes/RJ
Crowder/Obi
Mitchell/Hart/Sims

Lakers get Fournier, and some depth with Cam, Saric and most importantly get rid of Russell.
They give up an unprotected 1st but get back a protected 1st and 2nd rounder to ease the sting

Suns give up Mikal but they get back something they need badly which is a high scoring PF who can play some defense in Randle and they get Rose who can help ease the load off of CP.
They also get an unprotected 1st rounder from Lakers. Cameron Johnson takes over for Mikal and with more minutes he can put the same numbers as Mikal but with less defense and efficiency

I think this trade helps out everyone and we would be set at every position except PF. Our defense would be sick!

I think next to ball dominant CP and Booker, Suns value Mikal more than Randle. They need Mikal to defend across 4 positions at an all defense level, something Randle can't do.

We could really use another two way player in our SL. Preferably one thats not a SG( we got Grimes) not a SF( RJ all the way) so is Mikal a 4 ? Nope. We really could use a better PF. Will the Real Julius Randle please stand up?
I like how you did not include an unprotected first round pick tho. Unprotected first rounders are kind of like unprotected sex. You never know how that's going to turn out. You might be in for a rude awakening or your prayers might all of a sudden get answered. Depends on your expectations

While I agree, they have been noted this summer as looking for a low post PF. I think they need someone that will scrap with Dray at PF. I think this trade should work for the Suns after seeing Cam Johnson last year. CP3 has limited time on those tires so, I think a move now makes sense for them. They are also 17mm over the luxury tax, so adding salary to get that low post player isn’t easy.

They are weak at PG behind CP3 and Rose could anchor that second unit well for them.

I don’t think this handles LAL so well though to give up an unprotected pick.

Basically the bet is the Subs will move Mikal for a better PF and whether Randle qualifies.

You know I gonna spin wit it

Definitely would need a 4 but there’s enough minutes at SG/SF positions for RJ /Mikal to start and Grimes and a little of IQ to back up.

Randle shot selection is awful and plays too much ISO. Will Brunson help him tighten up his game? Come playoffs will he play smarter? Not sure if he is capable of that.
So maybe raise his value in the regular season and see who we can get for him?

Suns are not trading Mikal who is their engine defensively.

But the Suns are interesting. I do think that team will crumble once CP3 hits old age. Booker, Ayton and Mikal could be up for sale within 2 years.

I think the best replacement for Randle is Randle. Honest answer. There isn’t really a better defensive PF remotely available than him. Randle with lower uasage in the offense and with other players that draw attention is probably better than any player we can get today.

He really has the ability to be all NBA in the Dray Green mold. Everything Dray can do he can do better. He just has to not try to be Kobe.

Randle also loves a hard foul. Him and Marcus Morris got the most back bone of anyone here since Oakley.

Lakers essentially have one big move to make in Westbrook plus picks. I don’t think getting what amounts to Fournier is it.

The can get Cam for almost nothing

I agree. I don’t think there is actually a trade out there for Westbrook’s expiring. Not a lot of teams care to be in the 2023 market. Most teams are either clearly rebuilding already and well on their way or don’t realize they are rebuilding and are unlikely to make a move.

Utah for Conley, Bogs and whoever else they can fit into that price point is the most likely outcome, in my opinion.

Utah or other situational rebuilding team that has bloated but serviceable players they want to move. Westbrick has a big damn number. Nightmare when a guy making that much is not playing up to its level or is chronically injured.
John Wall I hope can make a comeback but its been a while since he has played consistently.

I was not impressed with Randle's defense last yr. I would try Rose+Randle+EF for Westbrook and as many picks as you can get.
