I know Ainge wants picks, but I would be surprised if we didnt have to give up Quickley. Not sure Id want to give up that much in picks.

Mitchell is very undersized at the 2

We would have the smallest back court in the league

Good point. Not against the FO rolling the dice. Said as much. Id like to see how this lineup does before making any more changes. Brunson might make that unecessary. Might find the bench needs more help.

I hate dealing with Ainge. He'll never accept a fair trade. We're gonna have to severely overpay and include all of our picks plus most of our youth. We'll be depleted of depth, youth and picks for a guy who is not a franchise level player.

I'd pass.

Mitchell is 6’2 with a 6’10 wingspan. By comparison, Evan Fournier is 6’7 with a 6’7.5 wingspan. Barrett also has a 6’10 wingspan.

Issue is that Mitchell played better at PG last year…

You are enough getting Mitchell without giving up one of Quick/Obi/Grimes. Reddish is a throw in as is any salary cap relief. No one is signing with Utah. This trade will be all about controllable assets and draft picks.

Rose (to make contract work)
Reddish
Toppin (or IQ)
3 or 4 picks

That is going to be the ideal package. But Utah is probably going to want

Rose
Toppin
Quickly
Grimes
Reddish
and minimum 4 picks.

And that is IF you can keep RJ off the table, which you may be able to due to the fact he is due his extension soon.

And you know Pat is ruthless and Masai don't give a f#$k either. The bidding war gonna be intense.

Do not trade RJ for a shorter Mitchell.

Do not trade obi, Mitch, grimes, or quick, or sims.

Picks? Go for it. But players that are promising? No thanks, ainge

Celtics and golden state showed that you need size at every position

Mitchell is supremely undersized and got exposed in this year’s playoffs

I want to see how much better this team is with a real PG. maybe rj is a 26 ppg scorer with a PG

Also some good points. Individual players aside, its harder to post up a 6'7 player. Id like to see if we need to commit a large part of the cap to a player, before we see if its really necessary. We have known for years that we needed a long term solution at PG.

Not saying Brunson will fix everything. In the camp that we should see how this lineup does before seeing if a position actually needs upgrading. Now that we have a legit starting PG.

I thought the reason we gave Brunson big money was because he thoroughly outplayed Donovan Mitchell in the playoffs? Didn't the Jazz fall apart whenever Rudy missed games and keep it together when D Mitchell did? Donovan Mitchell's rookie extension complicates trades with about half the league. His price will probably drop if the Jazz struggle going into next season. At the end of the day there's only one ball. I don't see this happening now.
