The whole bad guy, bad teammate, selfish guy, chemistry killer thing was never the best look but really pushed by media (mostly Berman) and regurgitated ad nauseum by the fans. Some of it deserved... he played poorly last year and his body language stunk. I dont know what his problem was but I am looking forward to a season where he turns it around.

He is NOT one of my favorite players. But he's in a great position to be really good next year. Its a decent young team and he's one of our best passers. Looking forward to getting him going again.

IMO this is the squad that will pick up where we left off 2 years ago. A team that hammers you with size, depth and defense all night

I disagree about it being Berman and media's fault for why the fans turned on Randle. He has nobody to blame by himself. Personally, it wasn't the declined shooting that turned me off to him. I expected that and it was league wide that shooting went down after a year of playing in empty arenas. What turned me off about Randle was his behavior on the court. The laziness, the pouting, the arguing with everyone from the officials to his own teammates and coaches. How he refused to shoot in some games to not helping fallen teammates to refusing to participate in team introductions with his teammates on the road. It comes across as arrogant, lazy, selfish and mentally soft. I just cannot root for players like that.

He was awful last year.

Had nothing to do with the media. He thought he was the man after one good season and expected undying loyalty from the fans and the media.

When he played poorly, he sulked, didn’t try on defense was selfish and told the fans to **** off he turned into the player he always was not the leader he used to be.

Partying in Vegas and watching summer league doesn’t make you a great teammate. It’s a start to be out there, but they have traded every veteran on this team away and it’s a young team that will go as far as he leads them.

We have the best bench in the nba and a pretty good squad out there. Still find it amazing that Lillard is going to make 60MM a season two years from now and the Knicks are a joke because we gave Jalen Brunson 25MM a season.

I think Randle bounces back and the team suprises everyone.

He could have handled himself better but playing in New York is unlike playing anywhere else. The pressure of being the franchise player and dealing with the media obviously got to him.

I think Randle will turn it around this season. I'm going to chalk up last season as a learning experience.

I believe running the offense through Brunson will help his game and make him more effecient.

Does it seem like Randle lost weight to anyone else?

Randle looks noticeably slimmer. Maybe being too big was the reason for the low effort last season.

man I am NOT here to defend last's performance, but something was not right with Randle and a good organization will know when to stick by a talented guy and let them navigate their growth opportunities. Maybe he did get too big/bulky, maybe he had struggles at home with a new baby or a wife with post partum depression or any number of a 1000 things that can phuck up a dude's life that we might not visibility into, but the Knicks FO does.

Again, no excuses but I think there's a good chance we see a springier, happier Julius next fall ready to lead by example and that's going to mean great defense, sharing the ball and being aggressive.

Randle has a 4 year deal ahead of him, I think Brunson takes a lot of pressure off Randle and you will just see a better version of Jules the player and Jules the man next year. Fingers crossed anyway

Why are they making IQ and Cam stand next to a trash dumpster. Get that thing out of the building and into an alley.

Great to see him look happy, though now Cam looks depressed

Basketball aside, on a basic human level it's no fun watching players/ people like randle struggle mentally and bball wise all season- if he be happy here and be fine with his teammates, great. If he doesn't want to play here and the media and fans get to him, find him somewhere where he can be happy- life's too short.

He did at some point last offseason too, that's why I was confused when he turned up to training camp a few weeks later looking a lot heavier than he did in the offseason work out vids- not sure what happened. He looks good physically and in spirits, which is nice to see.

Those are very large people. Randles kid is only 6 years old!!!

Just a year ago, so many of you emo’s have forgotten………..https://nypost.com/2021/05/26/julius-randles-son-kyden-surprises-him-with-nba-award/

I think we just stop pretending to think for him and guess how he feels. Its pretty silly.
And to set the record straight, look at the clip of where he said to STFU to fans. Not in a press conf. He was asked the questions. They booed, he put his finger to shush. OOOOOW, chaft me good? Really? Then he talked it up as he and the team came back. We came back from being down to beat boston. Fuck yeah “STFU”! I love that shyt.
The argue with refs? Distracted in TO? Not good looks, but we take all kinds of things and start making assumptions like he now don’t want to be in NY and since we from NY we all offended. Let the mans actions and words speak. Not frustrated damanged by 2o years of starphuching. Get in line, we all frustrated!

A couple of comments in general just looking at that pic…

- they all look in GREAT shape —— Julius specifically looks really lean for such a big guy
- has anyone ever seen Cam smile?
- Obi legs look like a race horse
- hoping Brunson can put Randle in better position to score more —— handle/creat less

In regard to Julius - if he were to be moved I think we will really miss his physicality. When he missed Covid games last and kids played — we looked soft as hell in my mind.

If we move him I hope it’s for decent return- if we keep him I hope his mind is in right place and he serves more as a finisher…not distributor

Wow this picture really accentuates how undersized Jalen is. Good thing he’s got those fakes and jukes.
