The Nets are dealing from a position of weakness the first round picks are protected. KD is whimsical and we don’t know if he will want to stay so his value is reduced. I might throw another first or swap.

Fournier is a sg/sf and Cam is more a sf. Harris is a bench guy. They could field a strong team around Kyrie if he is still there.

KD is under contract for 4 more years. Just because he requested a trade, doesn't mean the Nets can't take their time and shop around for the best offer. The Jazz just traded Gobert a 30 Year Old Center with a high salary cap hit for 3 unprotected first round picks, a 4th Top 5 Protected Pick, 2 Former First Round players, a first round player selected in the '22 draft and a guard who is known for very good defense. Why would the Nets trade Durant to their division and cross town rival from a position of weakness? They can shop Durant anytime to a contending team who might gladly overpay to have him put the team over the top.

Also - if the Nets are trading KD, why would they look to be a strong team next season with Kyrie who is much more flaky and has also has requested a trade. They will likely want to jettison both and start over again with a younger core and draft picks.

IDK. It is weird that something hasnt been done, considering who the player is. My guess as to why depends on KD's relationship with Kyrie. If KD has reached the breaking point with his friend. It looks like he is telling mgmt "its him or me".

KD demanded to be traded immediately after Kyrie re-upped. Kyrie getting traded might be enough to make Durant want to stay, if mgmt can get a good deal for Kyrie.

If they are still tight. Then I really dont know whats going on, lol. Cant blame mgmt for this fiasco. Other than knowing that Kyrie brings Drama.

I don't think it's weird. Nets are in the driver's seat and there's no reason to rush. KD is already signed and he doesn't have a no trade clause. All the damage has already been done from the perspective of the Nets FO.

Would have expected to hear of more teams in the hunt by now. Thats usually what happens when an elite player (in their prime) wants out.

KD did reportedly put together a list of teams who, for the most part, don't have anything the Nets really want. I think you'd see more traction if Durant opens up his list. From the Nets standpoint, there's no rush. They might need to get a handle on their demands tho. It's not like an opposing team would be getting a spring chicken.
