I doubt Leon and crew think they're smarter than everyone else. They probably do think they're smart though. I would imagine they actually are, given the jobs they've managed to get. I mean, even Phil was smart, albeit in a way that was a decade or two out of date.

We signed a free agent that was one of the best 3 point shooters in the league. Hardly nutso. Hey, so Kemba was a swing and miss. It happens. And even that bloodfart had a few nice moments.

All in all when you need lottery picks to get rid of your swing and a miss mistakes in the nba— you probably shouldn’t have taken the swing. We honestly went in hard free agency last year and let’s be honest— it was a mediocre outcome at best. So as a fan I’m gonna go negative nelly for 24-48 hours than I have to get back to being hopeful and loyal. But a Knick fan who was let down last night— I’d say give them fair latitude to be perplexed/mad/disappointed for a bit.

They made 80 deals to end up with a Brunson/RJ/Randle "big 3" and two of those guys were already here

thats not a plan. Thats a next move and a lot of hope. If there was a plan Kemba wouldnt have needed to be traded.

Fish? Brunson is all of that, but to me, he helps answer the RJ question - which is, can he get better? Resigning RJ will potentially lock us in to mediocrity. Brunson is only a swing at mediocrity!

Brunson is a really good BB player, but he's probably the 10th best starting PG... in the conference next year. That's not the guy you build your whole offseason around but hey

Making the playoffs was a surprise and if not for injuries we may have made the playoffs again. For once the Knicks are holding on to young talent and maybe if they sign Brunson the team takes another step in the right direction.

RJ turned it on after the New Year and he could very well turn into a superstar.
