No gloating--if u find anyone on the Internet who made the call the Knicks were gonna make and the subsequent draft pick the Thunder were gonna make---if you find the same post--I mean anywhere ill give u 10k in cash. This was extreme due diligence that brought me to that conclusion. Also there was a plethora of teams trying to get Williams--it wasnt one shot in the dark by Presti---I knew before the draft he was going higher than Vegas had him 15.5 that was an easy money bet. But as a team we couldve simply had Willimas and we bet against teams like Oklahoma San Antonio Memphis etc.. so we will see.
The Knick wouldve taken Johnny Davis or Matherin NOT SHARPE he wouldve been moved it was Davis Mathurin or trade pick.

i won't bust your chops more but it is kind of funny when you say i'm not gloating but i'm the only one on internet who made the call (in the same sentence). Again all in good fun, and it was an amazing call

i do want to comment on the betting against the OKC, SAS, Grizzlies etc. For references i'm including links to their draft histories. Far far from perfect, and one can argue where would any of these teams have been but for picks like Duncan, Durant, and Ja. OKC in particular had a spectacular run 2007-9 with three future MVPs but no title to show for it.

I don't see why passing on Williams was betting against all of those clubs.

I wasn't a fan of the tiers around where the Knicks were drafting at 11. They could have picked the same range of guys at 16-17 that they would have picked at 11.

I think 3 firsts for the 11 wasn't a bad deal. It was a good deal. Aller has a relationship with OKC through his time in Cleveland.

I don't agree with the move to trade to dump Walker's contract. I didn't agree with signing Walker in the first place but I wasn't posting back when that happened. I didn't like any of the signings/resignings last off season. I was bigger believer in "renting" the cap space out ( i.e. taking in picks or young players to eat a bad contract) instead of reupping Rose, Burks and Noel. I wanted the Knicks to wait on Randle for another year.

I like Bryce McGowan, but he wasn't value for slot at 11 by a long shot. I think Walker Kessler could have helped this team and will do better than many are going to project out.

I don't see this as a particularly strong draft, so I don't blame Brock Aller for trading out. And to be fair, he had to try to clean up some of the messes that Leon Rose made.

What Detroit is doing is much better but it's going to hurt a little more to start. Knicks should have just let their young guys play last year and not signed those veterans, more in the vein of the Pistons rebuild. Knicks made a mistake that Golden State did not make when they were under massive pressure to resign Carl Landry and Jarrett Jack when they were able to get into the playoffs after a long long long drought. Had the Warriors done that, the pathway to Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Durant, Wiggins and all the rest was probably not possible, etc, etc.

Brock Aller needs full control of this team. That's one thing I can say for certain. Leon Rose is clearly clouded by nepotism and his cronies at this point.
