ALL players should be on the table if a franchise number ONE is made available. However, it should be one that is relatively young. Since a chip team is not created with just one splashy move.
Irving? Does not fit that mold. He is a win now piece not a building block. But if the Nets want to trade him for our garbage, sounds good to me. But why would the Nets do that? Nah, not gonna happen. Nets would want Randle, RJ, Burkes, one of our prized young ones and draft assets.
DM? Absolutely trade Randle and Barrett for him. He is young enough and talented enough that you can effectively build a contender. Get it done.
4th pick/Ivey? As good as this kid looks I would not trade Randle (recent All Star) for a shinny object that can turn out to be fools gold.(As so many prospects have proven). Now if it means trading some of our own unproven chances, Ie 11th, future first round, unproven youth like Obi...sure. RJ may be on the table for me as well. But would hate to give up on the kid I feel has at least proven he can be really good at the NBA level. Ivey can be the next Ja but can also be the next Jordan Hill.
Still believe the Knicks will only break the bank for young game changers. There are none currently available. So they will continue to be patient but not overreach. Sure they will sniff around for deals but at the end of the day Rose is not as desperate as the fan base or the media is. Which is a good thing.
