KEEP Obi and Barrett.. Barrett in any deal will get Knickerbockers swindled, theft and ripped off.

Any other Knick on table then can talk.
WE do like Cam Reddish potential, TBD.
This sounds crazy but solely Barrett and Obi got the "Nutts" to withstand NY media , critics and GOOD and BAD of New York the Mecca.

Want guys whom want to be here and when going gets bad, they got Big b_lls & NUTTs to take it, NBA New York criticism and praises.

Randle ain't got it (Gotta go!) deal his Julius juice flop back and forth self. Now Randle does not want to leave, really ?

Won't comment yet on rest of current Knickerbocker roster its unfair. Wait to NBA 2022 draft.

Finally Knickerbockers PLEASE, stay away from Kyrie Irving Knicks interest rumors
https://nypost.com/2022/06/20/kyrie-irving-reaches-nets-impasse-knicks-potentially-interested/

Kyrie is James Harden v2.0 but with NBA ring
No nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Kyrie , too expensive and won't show up when you need the gent

Regarding Barrett. What do you reasonably expect his eFG to be next year? It was .466 this past year. .499 the year before. Barrett still has the aroma of a developing player, but he has one more year to be a max player before he becomes a player wanting a max contract. His stats are not there yet. After you predict what happens to RJ Barrett's eFG we can predict whether he is going to be worth a max contract. If he isn't it might be better to cash in the remainder value on his contract for a fresh lotto pick.

I'm not saying no to Kyrie just yet. I am wondering what the price is.

I like RJ's attitude and work ethic, but I just can't convince myself he has the talent to be the foundation piece of the franchise- if he can be used in a trade to get a player that could have the talent to be the foundation piece, I'd do it, but with a heavy heart. Unless his shooting and FT numbers significantly improve, he's a tough player to build a roster with- needs the ball in his hands, but isn't efficient enough to justify it, and at the same time not a good enough shooter to play off the ball or space the court. Also means you need to surround him with shooters when constructing the rest of the rosters, which is problematic if we're keeping Mitch and Randle.

Good point, I fully agree with what's stated. What price?
I also feel guys like Barrett and Randle have a ceiling. Barrett cause of age not there yet? but Randle has had his chances in NBA organizations.
Feel most of the Forum board may agree Y/N ? Barrett talent level ability has the upside, which in Randle we seen his best? at just 27 yrs age.

Love to keep RJ and if a BETTER #1 comes in we would get RJ to be perfect for that situation as he improves.
Randle may still bring back Knicks value. Kyrie ? can make lots of teams better. Which Kyrie is a concern. Fabulous talent BUT I dont Trust Kyrie Irving.
Need not say anymore. WE also need to make a NBA splash deal. Kyrie is in KNICK , LA NBA rumors

Tough spot for Knicks, everyone uses Knickerbockers. It's time for NYK org to use another team to Improve for NYK success.

I like Mitch Robinson attitude & playing the whole floor D', help defense key rebounds. However the cost ? Mitch isn't durable for a guy whom we think keeps in shape
Randle I am not sure about. His 'Sour Mike & Ike' ways of putting woes in newspapers don't help Knickerbockers. I like the 2020-21 Randle whom embraced NY mecca,
team logo. Think that's all lost now. He says he wants to stay. Wish we can package him in deal /picks some youth talent over to Utah for G Donovan Mitchell

I know folks saying "DJ" that AINT happening to bring Mitchell to Knickerbockers.
Still think other that aged Rose only RJ Barrett got the "Nutts" to play in NYC mecca and suck up the criticism. WE need some talented tough guys in
KNICK neighborhood.

RJ Barrett's offense/defense skill set are poor at the guard spot and the SF spot, plus we all witness 3 seasons of inconsistency performance from Barrett. Only if Barrett performance or talent had resembled Jordan Poole's performance in his 3rd season I would be writing extension contract, instead of trade !!!

Randle ceiling? Was All NBA not high enough? HE hit it. Then what happend? Don’t know. Slice off the second half of last year for RJ and you start to see whats there. 21 years old.
Nobody is convinced until they see it? See what the kid took games over.
Not Poole? RJ is not playing with 3 HOF’s is he. Wiggins gets that benefit also. RJ is stuck with the grumpy toxic hot mess we call “Randle” and still look how well he did.

We really thinking RJ is stuck at this level?

His shooting percentages were excellent in 2020. Last year they went down due in large part to no PG on the roster being a thing that caught up

He’s also not a Guard. He’s a SF in today’s NBA (really a PF) not sure why the Knicks fascination with using him as a 2. If we ever did figure out a way to get rid of Randle RJ, not Obi, would be the biggest beneficiary

ALL players should be on the table if a franchise number ONE is made available. However, it should be one that is relatively young. Since a chip team is not created with just one splashy move.

Irving? Does not fit that mold. He is a win now piece not a building block. But if the Nets want to trade him for our garbage, sounds good to me. But why would the Nets do that? Nah, not gonna happen. Nets would want Randle, RJ, Burkes, one of our prized young ones and draft assets.

DM? Absolutely trade Randle and Barrett for him. He is young enough and talented enough that you can effectively build a contender. Get it done.

4th pick/Ivey? As good as this kid looks I would not trade Randle (recent All Star) for a shinny object that can turn out to be fools gold.(As so many prospects have proven). Now if it means trading some of our own unproven chances, Ie 11th, future first round, unproven youth like Obi...sure. RJ may be on the table for me as well. But would hate to give up on the kid I feel has at least proven he can be really good at the NBA level. Ivey can be the next Ja but can also be the next Jordan Hill.

Still believe the Knicks will only break the bank for young game changers. There are none currently available. So they will continue to be patient but not overreach. Sure they will sniff around for deals but at the end of the day Rose is not as desperate as the fan base or the media is. Which is a good thing.

Ivey floor might be D’Aron Fox/John Wall type? Guys that have talent, get paid, but does not equate to team ball wins?
As great as Westbrook was an sure fire statistic HOF player, did he really add enough to win? I don’t blame him for not winning finals with OKC as they were young, but there are some players that just don’t “win”.

These guys get paid and are stars.

nets could trade out Durant and Kyrie and reboot. Rehab and build with Simmons for a while. I Durant is not my favorite but the man can play. I’d hope we stay away from that. Starphuch contention at best with a cheap chip followed by another long losing era would not be worth it. Its a long shot so not worth even debating.

Stuck? No. But I think an unemotional analysis of his likelihood of improving his efficiency is valuable. There are a lot of things that I haven't considered (floor spacing, etc), but at some point I am just trying to answer what I think Barrett will do next year in terms of eFG. Will he add 50+ bps to his eFG to become a moderately okay scorer in the league? Will teams adjust to him and just push him right? Will he show up with different conditioning that allows him to finish over defenders? Its not that these cannot happen. They all can, its what does he need to achieve prior to demanding a long term contract? Does that likelihood of success warrant another year of development or is it better to punt and start with a fresh rookie scale contract? I am not saying we must trade him, but I think people are expecting some amazing development and I didn't see what I was looking for when he got the volume shots in the second half. He wasn't finishing or passing effectively. I don't want a full season of that.

Let's be real. Kyrie is way better than Barrett, and he is probably better than Barrett will ever be. However, does Kyrie actually want to play basketball? Is he going to continue to miss games and only do the bare minimum. I just don't see Kyrie working out longterm, and we are at least 1 or 2 years away from contending even if we had Kyrie. Thus, keeping Barrett is probably the smarter move.

Kyrie is also a locker room cancer who plays maybe 20-50 games a year and will inevitably force his way out of NY with a trade after Thibs hurts his fee fees in practice

We are trying to build a winning culture here and for the first time in 20+ years have a semblance of one. The Nets haven’t won s with Kyrie they didn’t even win a single playoff game this season. I definitely can see him retiring in less than 2 years after he butts heads with Lebron again in LA

agree ..with both of you, Kyrie BETTER than ANY knicks in past decade. However Kyrie is about Kyrie solely, Could care less for "Team first"
Irving got NBA Ring to boast, He's not going to work out here in NY Knickland. Why would he ? Dreaded NETs elite team has him and could not
even win 1 " F&*$$_kin " NBA Playoff game 2021/22. Nets swept ! outta 2022 NBA finals to kingdom come. GOOD Riddance Nets

NY Knicks ? have we ever got swept ? NBA Playoffs?. NO to Mr K. Irving he's not worth the $$ investment and whom knows? when he will play. Irving has problems
staying on court when he's 100% health cleared. Why ? would any team take chance on Kyrie's selfish stance.
