Wouldn't be shocked to see Obi there another year - just seems to have that "whatever I can do" mentality. Let's get that SL jersey retired!*

*Side note, went to look up how old Nate Robinson was in his last SL and found this article with a gem of an opener:

It’s no secret at this point that the New York Knicks may have a future star on their hands in first round selection Kevin Knox. His explosive performance in Las Vegas during NBA Summer League had the entire community buzzing that the Knicks may have actually found another young cornerstone player.

Goddamn Zion had to go steal the ball and Kevin's soul...

You said it. What a play.

Orlando really dropped the ball and blundered by not taking that kid #1 overall.

He's a unicorn.

• 10x more talented than Porzingis on Offense with Kevin Garnett type of shot blocking abilities.

I think he's Dirk 2.0 with Defensive Player of the Year potential.

They have sick size. I like how Holmgren keeps his hands up. Thats why hes a good shot blocker

Only player in the draft who I really wanted to trade up to get.

Wasserman always seems to give the Knicks draft picks and pickups good write ups- makes a nice change to most other writers

1. Jean Montero, New York Knicks PG

While NBA scouts gradually started selling stock in Jean Montero, we still saw fringe first-round value.

He caught an unlucky break at the combine in Chicago, where an injury knocked him out of scrimmages just a few minutes in. NBA teams questioned his 172-pound frame and inconsistent shooting with Overtime, but there is still a good chance Montero's quickness off the bounce, handle and pacing and passing skills translate to creation and playmaking.

And though his three-point percentages have never been super convincing, he possesses clear shot-making skill, which he showed at the Nike Hoop Summit with four made threes.

There are obvious concerns about his finishing and defense, but Montero's ability to set teammates up and make jumpers, even if it's in spurts, could be enough for the Dominican guard to stick in a bench spark role.

Montero reminds me of Tony Parker with the way he controls pace and uses the floater in the lane. I like him a lot. But I would tell to go to Europe and develop if I were his agent. And the Knicks would have probably been the last team I would've directed him to. Quick, McBride, the Rok... There doesn't seem to be a path to the big club in the foreseeable future. Also, it says a lot about Overtime Elites set up. It's a way to make quick cash, but I haven't seen anything from a scout to suggest it's a serious league.

Paolo is going to be a beast. The footwork and vision are already scary and he's only going to get better.

Super excited for tonight! Even though we don't have that lottery pick rookie to overhype and get disappointed!

Really looking for Grimes to have a monster SL and make it super easy to trade Fournier to Dallas or somewhere or anywhere else. Also looking forward to see Keels, Sims and Deuce! And keep an eye out for Feron Hunt and Montero! We still have a roster spot open and I'd love to see one of these kids earn it!

Chet and Paolo…….They suppose to be good. 75% of summer league won’t see a minute in the NBA.
Can’t say how much better Glegue % is or not. Consider Deuce and how he did great in Gleague but NBA a whole other level.
Jabari Smith, so the dude had a bad game. Uh oh!!!!

Montero has to light it up to even get a look in the Fall.

What's the deal with Feron Hunt? How he get a 2 way contract? I have not seen anything to make me think he would be any good yet. This is his time to show me something.

I'll also add that Keels is at least a year away from being a year away. His conditioning is not even close. Almost Zion level.
