![]() Seems we're never in a position to draft a great point guard to run this team. Will this be the year that finally changes?
Must face the facts that Walker and Rose had their shining moment and the sun is fading on them. Between injuries, surgeries (minor procedures?) and losing a step due to age, they simply cannot be looked at as the future. Who do we have: Number 11 pick in this year's draft, (Walker), (Rose), Deuce McBride, Ryan Arcidiacono, with Quickly and maybe Burks giving a hand at the position. Apart from McBride, the future looks glum...or is it. Last year's draft the Knicks traded picks to take Rokas Jokubaitis...two picks before taking McBride and 24 picks ahead of Jericho Sims. They must have seen something in him to make the trade to get him and taking him ahead of McBride, makes one wonder what they wanted out of him. I've been reading up on Jokubaitis and it's impressive. He has won the annual "Euroleague Rising Star Award" given to the most outstanding player in the Euroleague. Past winners are Luka Dončić, Ricky Rubio, Danilo Gallinari, etc., so he's in pretty good company. He's definitely a shooter making a little over 57% of his three point shots and over 80% at the free throw line and he's adept at drawing fouls. Anyway, will the Knicks give him a chance this year? Probably not. Thibs prefers veterans to youngsters so maybe next year. Regardless, when it looks like the season is not headed for the playoffs...why not give this kid a chance to see what he can do under the blazing lights of MSG? https://heavy.com/sports/new-york-knicks/new-york-knicks-draft-and-stash-pg-is-going-nuclear-overseas/ Of course, we might come away with a player in this draft who can step right in at PG. There's some really good names out there and depending on how the draft falls, we might get lucky for a change. I know a lot of people are high on Jalen Williams, Dyson Daniels, Benedict Mathruin, Shaedon Sharpe, and of course Jaden Ivey (which would take a miracle to get). Personally, I am very high on Hugo Besson in the second round if he's still available, but he would be in the same position as Jkubaitis...most likely. All in all, it's just plain depressing to sit back and wait for the Knicks' front office to get us a floor leader who can spread the floor, shoot the lights out, and effectively distribute the ball to open teammates |

Been here about a week. I haven't delved into the past year's threads other than the Alba one because I noticed that each individual on the board had an "Alba" count next to it so I thought I'd check it out to see what that was all about. Most of the pictures no longer exist so I added a few, but that's about as far into the depth of threads on here goes for me. I kind of wanted to start a poll to see who everyone wants drafted at no. 11, but being the newbie, I just basically wanted to read people's opinions leading up to the draft. Wish it was tonight and not next week! |

![]() It's really a disappointing draft for point guards as all but Ivey need NBA seasoning (much like McBride) and even Ivey is more of an off guard who like Quick could probably handle the ball as the floor leader

That being said there is a clear eye to the future here and building up a pipeline.fishmike wrote:its gonna be next year but he's a legit prospect.. ![]() Ivy and Quickley (with Barrett at the 3) would be an awesome and dynamic backcourt.

![]() There is a belief that the FO's offseason plan to get a PG might be:
Plan A: trade up and get Jayden Ivey. Plan B: sign Brunson Plan C: trade for Brogdon Trading up will cost alot but if the Knicks brass thinks Ivey can be a Garland or Ja, i guess eventually if it pans out everyone will get over it. If the cost is the 11th pick, a future 1st and Obi, how will you guys feel? Is there a way to trade Randle to the hawks plus one 1st round pick for John Collins? The is a good chance Randle will have a bounce back year next year but i dont like the idea he might be a bad influence to the other young knicks. Mitch/Bamba John Collins RJ IQ/Grimes Ivey I like Ivey alot, i hope he develops his shooting if he somehow gets drafted by the knicks |

![]() BingBong wrote:After watching this, I just want Ivey. The young man is exactly what the Knicks need. It would take a lot to move up and get him, but he's so special it would be worth it IMHO Would cost us RJ plus the 11 pick to move up. Nah. Stay at 11 draft the next best pg in the draft Kennedy Chandler |

![]() Brunson was the shiny object, now Ivey is I guess. Let's trade all our assets for the #4 pick but he gets chosen at #3. Or we do get him and he's declared a bust after his second summer league game. Then we'll package him with Randle for Westbrook. And so it goes....
