Complete lack of news about anything outside of the finals- maybe we're not used to it after how squashed last years schedule was!

Literally think it’s on purpose during finals. At least minimized. Makes sense

There’s a few factors to it.

1) I think about a third of the teams this year don’t have their pick because they traded it

2) On the low I think this draft isn’t very deep so teams are being extra quiet and inviting everyone for a workout. Knicks have pick #11 and are openly working out a guy like Marjon Beauchamp who also has workouts scheduled with other teams higher than them in the lottery too. That’s a subtle sign teams are looking high and low for guys they can get behind. Which means guys are not killing it in these workouts.

3) teams have multiple rumors they want to trade out is another sign they aren’t impressed.

Draft is in 10 days. I guess the league is not a public about the interview process as it used to be? teams still playing are focused on other thigs buut still have to look at kids.

teams are working on draft day trade scenarios and we never get a wiff of that.
Maybe its a mandate to tighten up the rumor mills?

Berman said the Knicks have allowed more media access to workouts than they have in previous years on the KFS podcast. I just think the league staggered things so carefully that the draft won't really won't take center stage until the finals are over.

Last season the offseason was supposed to be quiet and it still exploded with plenty of intrigue. Despite political turmoil, the NBA is back in force in China- there are a huge amount of Warriors fans here. I also think teams are eyeing a new CBA. It's weird, TV ratings are down but I'm sure they are so because there are so many different ways to watch than before. I still think outside of football/ soccer, basketball has the biggest market internationally. The big difference is basketball is all in the USA. What I'm saying is, hold onto your hats, there will be plenty of drama.
I really think the Lakers and Nets are in interesting spots. Both teams could go a far way to rebuilding their teams if they jettison LeBron (Golden State) Westbrook (Charlotte) Kyrie (SA) and Durant (POR). Those guys can still get something in return and position their teams to rebut around Simmons and AD. Teams in their position should consider getting something before it's too late. So as far as the draft goes, I wouldn't be surprised if we see so major moves.

I think it is beyond stupid when there's all this non NBA Finals news during the Finals. This is literally the best of the league's product and I think every team should redirect any interest in any aspect of the NBA to the Finals. After everyone sees what the best of the best looks like, then start selling hope to joke franchises like us and the Kings

The Denver Nuggets are trading forward JaMychal Green and a protected 2027 first round pick to the Oklahoma City Thunder for the 30th pick in the 2022 NBA Draft and two future second round picks.

The Thunder will use some of their remaining nearly $30 million in cap space for the 2022 season to absorb Green's $8.2 million deal. Green will also have to opt in for $8.2 million for the 2022-23 to complete this deal.

Oklahoma City will still have over $20 million in remaining cap space this season to make moves around the draft. That cap space will dry up when the league changes over on July 1, when OKC is expected to be over the cap.

The Thunder also balance out their draft pick stash a bit. They were scheduled to have four picks in the 2022 draft, which would have necessitated waiving young players under contract.

Denver will clear some room around the luxury tax by moving off Green's salary. They'll also be in position to package the 30th pick with the 21st pick in an attempt to move up in the 2022 NBA Draft.

Holy **** this was a great deal for the Nuggets. They get to cut salary and get 3 guys on cheap contracts for a protected 1st rounder. Was the same deal available for THT and the Lakers pick? This would have been a big help for them to round out their roster.

It shows the limited value of multiple picks in the same draft. Knicks will be in this situation next summer with a total of 6 picks. Knicks have until the trade deadline to turn those picks and expiring into a a piece.
