every position they have big physical bodies. Just like the warriors biggest guy only 6-9 but avg weight of these players 220-240 pritchard smallest guy at 6-2 195

You need big guys just to match up defensively. These teams have had trouble with Cs size and on D their size and quickness has been overwhelming.

The warriors are a different animal so it will be quite a match up.

But if Im the Knicks and Im watching this Im taking note. Hard to defend 240 pound guys with 180-200

But at one point when bam sits, the tallest player for Miami is TJ Tucker. And even bam isn’t super tall or heavy. But it’s a bad matchup for Miami. Still not over. Butler snd Lowery couldn’t hit anything and both are playing injured.

I can't even watch these games, they are so ugly and poorly played. I also, and I could be wrong, don't see either Miami or the Celtics doing anything against G State. Like sweep bad.

The only message I get is you don't have to be that good to get out of the East.

Briggs I don’t think the success is a weight mismatch so much as it lets the celts switch on everything better. Celts success has been when they use a “small” to set a screen for Tatum to get tucker off Tatum and someone like Hero on him. Or from jaylen hitting shots shooting over people and staying clear of Bam

And if anything celts have success because smart (who is not 240) is strong enough to guard bigs

East has a ton of good teams and no great teams. Milwaukee maybe but Middleton being injured cost them. Boston was looking like a team that might blow it up earlier in the season. Moral of the story is Knicks need to continue to build and hope for continuity and chemistry to get them in the mix. Then a couple of breaks and you never know what might happen. They still need a superstar but need to just keep building. Focus on adding switchable defenders and efficient offensive players.

Having Tatum helps. You need a player at that elite level. Everything else becomes easier.

Injuries on the Heat side are making the Celtics look like superstars. Folks like Lowry, Herro, and Butler are either out or not themselves. I don’t think the Heat are going to right themselves in time.

But perhaps there’s some legs to this requirements. If you get a good player this size, it’s the holy grain, too quick for bigs to handle, too strong for wings to handle.

Players in that 6’8-9” range used to result in tweeners that are versatile but are too slow or too skinny or too unskilled to be good weapons (Think players like Marvin Williams or even Taj Gibson - serviceable but not awesome) - stars this size used to be pretty rare. It seems like in the last 3-4 years players this size have been evolving and now it seems like half the teams have 1 or 2 players like this capable of putting up 20+ppg.

Tatum is looking more and more like a power forward than a wing.

We need Randle to play back closer to last year.
We need RJ to keep moving on up.
Keep drafting good value in sub 20’s and 2nd round. Thats how the final 4 teams got there.
Stars matter, so does the support!!!!!

I was thinking Dallas could have used a player like Randle instead of 3 PGs.

Trade makes a lot of sense, makes both teams better, I think.

It’s not insane. The problem for us is we’re selling low and Mavs selling high. You know, the classic Knicks way.

are we really selling low? Meaning, I could see it getting worse- he is 1 year removed from a good year. After next year, it could be 2!

And back to the original thread here- about big players- if Randle ever clears the cobwebs from his head, he is the exact kind of player you want in the play offs- so I am not in a hurry to trade him, but if we can swap him for a Brunson and balance out the team, we've improved.

Randle could thrive in the postseason as long as he never sees a double team.

You could also look at it this way -- Randle is coming off a "disappointing" season and Brunson a "breakout" one. I actually was agreeing with your comparing the value of the two players but it would seem perception would affect that. Anyway, doesn't matter what I think! Would the Mavs and Knicks come to some kind of agreement? And fan driven "trades" pretty much never happen.

Briggs with what you are emphasizing, we should keep an eye on AJ Griffin. CAA client, local kid, and big bodied wing who can shoot. We would have to trade up a bit most likely, but this is the hybrid wing you’re referring to. He would eventually move RJ back to the 2, but if you’re trying to get bigger and more versatile this is the guy. I will also remain high on Johnny Davis due to his 2way game, but he obviously doesn’t have the same size.

Boston Celtics got rid of two Atrocious scrubs.

Kemba Walker.
Evan Fournier.

It's as simple as that (black and white).

Trading Kemba for Al Horford was key and so was the trade for White and getting rid of Schröder while taking back Daniel Theis.
