I know. We never win the lottery, but that only means we are due. If we get the 1st pick, I think we take Jaden Ivey. We can then forget about trying to sign Brunson. We resign Mitch and bring back the team, except for Kemba and Alec. Chet Holmgren is another possibility but I would go with Ivey and hope that we finally found our solution at PG.

I want to stay far away from Holmgren. Ivey would be great - I would also be happy with Blanchero or Jabari.

For me this is like the 84 draft with Portland sitting at the #2 spot with Hakeem off the board and Clyde Drexler on your roster.

It's not the perfect mirror but are you drafting to fill a position of need or drafting the best talent regardless.

Michael Jordan or Sam Bowie?

If this is your expectation you may be in for disappointment since Ivey is not a PG - at least that was my observation in the countless games I watched him play over the past 2 seasons.

It sucks, because 3 of the top guys are fours, at least initially. I would consider pulling the trigger on Sharpe at 1, but that's a balls out move and one that could cost many GMs their jobs. I feel Banchero is the best option after that. Chet is hard to figure because a lot of it is upside. Does he still keep his quickness if he gains weight? How does that impact his defense versatility? This is one of the most interesting drafts we've had in a number of years

NBADraft.net is known for making some wild comparisons. I think they might have had Kyrie's como as John Stockton. They'll never live down the Deshaun Stevenson/Michael Jordan comp. I've seen some Jason Tatum comps as well. Is that better?

Jabari Smith is the best player in this draft IMO. I'm taking him 1st or trade down to 4 or 5 and grab Sharpe who has the potential to be one of the top 3 players in this draft when its all said and done.

Chet looks like he has the highest upside in the draft but also the highest flop potential. We can can't afford to fail.

Ivey looks solid but I think we are overstating him based on Ja Morant’s success. If I knew he would be Ja Morant, it would be a no brainer but Ja is Ja due to his work and I don’t know that Ivey will get there.

Jabari Smith looks like the safest pick.

Shaeden Sharpe is the guy that is not deserving of #1 due to the lack of track record and questions about his ability and willingness to drive, but is in my opinion the guy that changes a franchise. Getting that guy into an organization to train professionally will alter the course of that franchise. If I had #1, I might trade back to where Sharpe is, if there is a trade available.

You know I gonna spin wit it

Holdgrem comes off teh bench in his rookie year. I have weird comps. skinny white dude comps of course. not the aryan KP was depicted but these uber tall wing wannabe’s need YEARS to fill out and stay injury free.

Knicks and the fan base patient to do that?

If we pick that high you go with the player with the highest ceiling as long as the ceiling is higher than aht you got on the roster.

Jordan was a freak of nature and freak of personality. Hindsight is obvious now but few thought jordan would be the GOAT he became. That also took until he was 27, with the right coach, and his buy into that system. No doubt Bulls were given a gift but the rest of it had to come together just right.

Funny to think how many players simply end up on bad places and what does to careers? These guys are so talented many simply never make it, and others have amazing careers. For some its a thin line. Say Jordan is on some ****ty hawks team, takes the money, and keeps doing too much and just that amount of extra fatique he tears his ACL. Then, it would be really bad career trajectory. With his sociopath personality and not winning he becomes a difficult player with ego.
At the same time what if Dominique wilkens gets on Bulls with Pippen and big chef triangle and he buys in? “Trading Places”???? Just food for thought.

Not that we need to trust them any more than NBAdraft.net, but Posting and Toasting goes heavily into the same comparison. Anyway, I assume it’s a moot point, but I can’t see the FO drafting a power forward with questionable defensive effort at 11 much less top 4.
