That leaves IQ and Deuce and Rokas either has to jump one for playing time or both. I dont see that happening without assurances. One of Deuce or IQ goes in a trade then? Can anyone comment about Rokas defense? Cuz we know Thibs demands players do “Other things” to stay on the court. Or……Rokas is trade fodder for a team that see’s him very highly and would treat him like a high 1st rounder in terms of money and years to develop. That could be us too. |

I don't see IQ or Deuce being that big of an issue in terms of playing time because Rokas brings skills they don't have and they could conceivably play together (Rokas is 6'5"). Of course you have to consider that Thibs is going Thibs and he won't play the Rok much anyway. Also, there's the possibility he just can't play at the NBA level. Hopefully he plays in SL and gives us a better indication. Things get a little murky when you consider possible moves in the off-season. If a trade where to happen, I think Burks is probably one of the first guys to go. Good versatility, decent contract, knows his role...many contending teams can use that. Also would be the key to unlocking the playing time puzzle for Cam and Grimes. Does it lead to the acquisition of a pro-level PG? If I were Rokas, that would definitely make me consider me to stay or ask for a trade. Always... always remember: Less is less. More is more. More is better and twice as much is good too. Not enough is bad, and too much is never enough except when it's just about right.

Didn't say the organization would take the request seriously. But if there's a team out there that has shown interest, that's at least one bit of leverage his agent could use. Your not incorrect. if knicks have a logjam and cannot/won't commit to open an opportunity where another team can its foolish to not consider a trade for knicks and get something in return. Its also a dick move to block a 2nd round player from an opportunity. Rokas is not getting starter minutes now but thats how they treat guys bound for the NBA. I'd say Rokas very well can commit to staying in Europe for 2 more years and getting that chance. |

![]() they need to get him into SL and see if he's a rotation caliber player. See his work habits, the whole package. This guy is a fringe prospect. Come show something and you will get signed

Come show something and you will get signed He is not really a fringe prospect though. The Knicks already told us how much they value him: they took him first over McBride. And they have also sent a contingent to Spain about a month or 2 back. And he is playing in a high level league that NCAA. He will be good. Official sponsor of the PURE KNICKS LOVE Program

At least that's how I see the FO going about this and its great. Surely with Rokas they went for shooting/skill/BBIQ over another run/jump type athlete.fishmike wrote:they need to get him into SL and see if he's a rotation caliber player. Do we see a youth movement or do we see more "support" for Randle/Fournier/RJ/Burks from Leon? We know they can get value from the draft... how much do they value that value? We can argue "fringe" for Rokas... he's just signed a 4 year deal with Barcelona and fwiw is pretty open about being happy playing in EU. We got a lot of guys set to come back.
