I thought both the guide and discussion have a lot of good points. 1. I'm interested in the relationship between RJ's inefficiency at the hoop and Mitchell being second in the league in putbacks. How many of RJ's misses became Robinson dunks? It seems like that's actually a better play than an assist attempt because you get two shots rather than one. 2. That intersects with Robinson getting resigned. Marks is pretty adamant that Robinson is right in the range of what NY can offer as an extension. Maybe Robinson has an axe to grind because they didn't do this last summer. Putbacks are a huge difference between Robinson and Sims/ Noel. 3. Knicks lost a lot of games on the margins. 4. CP on KnicksfanTV makes good content though I disagree a lot. Mrs. Randle complaining about it only confirms how a lot of the teams problems are exacerbated by "fans". |

And it comes down to the PG position. If you have Rose somewhat healthy in feb/March you don’t lose some of those games. I think at minimum he wins you 5 more games and we are in the .500 range or slightly better. A true starting PG, even just a role player, gets us a couple more wins. I think if we were to return the team and add a quality PG, let’s say on the low end Tyus Jones and on the high end Brunson, we should be in that 43-47 win range. Even with IQ starting there’s a chance if he improves. Some improvements from Randle and another step from barrett solidifies 45+ wins. |
