According to one of the Chicago papers Isaih upon hearing that the Bulls would listen to offers for Eddy Curry offered them Nazr Mohammad in return. The Bulls obviously turned him down but did say according to the paper that they would accept the deal w/ Mike Sweetney for Curry. This got me thinking whether or not I would do a swap of Sweetney for Curry, Curry is a 6-11 21 year old center and has amazing potential, but he is also erratic and in many ways Sweetney is already becoming a more consistant performer. In the end i dont know if u cab turn away from the potentail of Curry since he is a center and they are clearly harder to find than a good 4. But again it would be a very tough call. So my question for all of u is very simply, would you trade Michael Sweetney for Eddy Curry.

There have been many different arguements for this debate.
In the end, I would prefer to keep Sweetney. I see great things in his future, and I'm not sure I'm ready to give that up for what Curry may, or may not, become.

I would do the trade. It's tough but I'd definitely do it. With this I mean that as a fan of the knicks and watching sweetney grow, one must still think with the brain and not be influenced from what we've seen in terms of growth with mike.

I would do that trade and i wouldnt think twice. i mean just think, we tried to give kT away for malik rose-we offered him a round the league 90 times, hes 32 years old--were NEVER EVER EVER winning a championship with KT as a main cog EVER. Sweetney is a FULL tier notch below what an elite PF is. So is Curry, but he has realistic potential to actully be on that level. I mean I watch guys like brand and randolph very intently--guys you would compare sweetney to. He is a clear tier below. those guys can play the TALL top tier PFs in this league and Mike cant. I like Mike Sweetney and this certainly is not a slam on him--id also be very happy to keep him, but i think we would be better served long term with Curry.

I wouldnt be out of the realm< Ib be willing to do Sweetney and Nazr for Curry and Piatkowski+ the bulls 2nd round pick next year.

call up jim paxson and get it done isiah just do it baby:>)

I would do this trade on a condition that he cuts his hair.

Center is harder to come by and this is a gamble you would need to do. We still have Dirty Kurty and then maybe IT can sign Haislip already.

The more I think about it, the more inclined I would be to do it, but I'm also skeptical that Paxson would.

It's just a question of whether you feel Curry has the heart to realize his potential. I'd try to do the deal without Sweetney.

I think Briggs summed it up nicely, I really like sweetney, but Curry gives us something we need.. size!! He is a legit big man size and if and when he fufills that potential he is going to be a beast, I think it is a matter of when and where curry comes around, not if, and I hope that place is in NY and soon...

is sweetney going to be the next charles barkley?

He's a bit undersized, nice player showing hustle and nice moves

Have not really watched Curry play much- he does seem to have big games against the Knicks- and does fill a position we need help with.

I'm happy with KT at PF.

I hate to give up on Sweetney but Currys low post game as a center compliment KT's perimeter game as a power forward better.

I think i'll chime in here with a descenting opinion. I would not trade Sweetney for anyone beyond maybe 4 or 5 players in the league (Duncan, Garnett, Shaq, J. Oneal and possibly Lebron)...that's it. And no, I ain't trading him for no high fallutin guard or some highlight reel (Kobe, Tmac, Vince...sorry folks with opposing viewpoints but, Lebron has substance). Call me crazy...and I know you will but I think Sweetney has greatness written all over him. He's gonna far surpass Brand (he did quite well against him the other night) and a lot of the other power forwards I hear so much talk about. I will be glad when Coach Wilkens finally just leaves him in the game and lets him make his mistakes...so all of this talk about trading him can cease. This fella is much more mature than most veterans. He's ready right now.

Now I can't just stop there. So lastly, in reference to Curry....sit tight. I'm gonna go out even further on a limb (yall hear that creaking sound) and say we'll end up getting Curry because he'll just want to come. I think we're grossly underestimating Jamal's influence on him. Next year is his contract year and the Bulls have already cast their lot. Curry for swiss cheese in 2005...watch it.

I still wouldnt do it.If Curry didnt have a reputation for being lazy that would be different. Is Sweetney going to be a superstar? Probably not,but I will take an above average role player any day over someone who doesnt take enough pride in his game.

How many championship teams were built without very good role players? Why trade someone who looks like he is going to be a real asset to this team for the next decade to play the Curry lottery all over again? Sure, maybe this time he will be more than just another lazy, overpaid, disappointment.
