with the pick, I'd consider it since money really is not an issue anymore.... but I still think trading for zo or players of his TYPE (over 30, name is more impressing than the stats, etc) is kind of bad if we're moving in a rebuilding on the fly, younger direction while trying to still win...

zo's health worries me a lot and if he went down(which is likely) then we are in more trouble considering how thin we would be already..
but I do like zo a lot...

what Zo gives you is a guy that can start a game and finish a game and give you toughness and two way play under the basket. He's exactly the kind of guy you want your young players around.

You're assuming he lasts more than 10 or 20 games this year. I wouldn't make that assumption. If we're completely rebuilding and don't care at all about this season, then I'd make the trade just to get the pick. If we care about this year, then I wouldn't place any trust in Zo and would not trade our starting center for him.

How about Baker and $3 mil for Zo? I'd try to get NJ to include at least a 2nd rd pick, but it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me if they wouldn't include it. Would NJ do this just to get rid of Zo?

Even with zo, we are not championship quality.

Is nazr never going to get better? If he can, keep developing him.

This team can play better. Zo is not getting us over the top. I'd rather we try for curry.

We need upside.

the thing Zo brings that we need is defense.

Game against Indy- Jermain ONeal just backed Nazr down like he was a 6'5" guarg and not a center.

If NJ would send Zo & a 1st rounder, I'd say do it.

I've defended Nazr- but he is a nice role player- if Zo can give you 2 effective years, you could parlay those two draft picks into a possible better pick- and then you might have a shot at getting a nice center.

You are referencing one of the 1st rounders that Denver sent- are they lottery protected? The way Denver is playing this year, you might have a shot of getting a good pick, possibly better than ours.

If he goes down then insurance covers the cost and you still have an extra draft pick. Nazr isnt that bad, but he's not the good either. He cant get any stops, and gets killed by any post player thats got skills. He will have his moments but Indy is a perfect example of how he can come away with good numbers and not really impact the game.

even if there isnt... if I get a decent pick back I do that trade. Either Denver or NJ's #1. Both have a chance to better lottery picks, neither will be higher than 20. I would agree to take the worse of either.. you can do that.

I agree with- the Denver or NJ pick and ours could be moved to a higher pick- that gets you a shot at a good big for this draft.

but- is Denver's lottery protected? I doubt Kiki expected the bad start they've had- and the way some other teams are playing out west- who knows if Denver makes the playoffs this year
