you mean eviscerated - or is it a new word, including evaporated?

I think Golden State has had a few losses where they went up double digits and then lost- I don't think anything as dramatic as what we have watched.

Rest of the season- anyone going to watch? I don't know- my self care probably requires me not to.

We could slow the game down by using more of the shot clock and to make sure we get back and set up on D. The way we’ve been playing is undisciplined. The coach has to make some changes. To nit make the top 10 after last year is disgusting. This year has been one of if nothing the worst in recent memory. It takes away from last year

We don’t have any rim protection, last night was rough to watch.

Our defense looks soft, even with Mitch and Sims. Sixers just drove in the paint all night, with no fear.

We can’t get any stops, we look soft.

Mitch is still lacking a lot of discipline on the defensive end.

Between this and his terrible FT percent I wouldn’t mind moving on from him as a starter.

Currently he would be benched in the 4th quarter of a game 7.

Mitch is not good at guarding pick and rolls either,

The gap on the defensive end from Noel to Mitch is pretty wide imo.

We miss Noel a lot, especially as a rim protector. I was really disappointed in Sims last night, he looked soft on defense. Did even ball contest, when defenders drove into the lane. Obi is not a rom protector either, harden just pushed him out the way. Our bigs all looked soft.

I already know we have issues with perimeter defense but our bigs look soft on defense and provide 0 offense. Bad free throw shooters also.

It's hard to defend Harden and Embid if the refs allow them to bull into the defender and bail them out with a foul call.

Its not like every pundit with a brain not a Bing Bonger told us we’d be about .500 and in a dog fight at the bottom.

Im watching Franco. IM watching IQ and Im watching Obi. IM watching if Deuce gets his window and what he does with it. Im watching Randle play with improved energy and going to the rim. Im watching the wonderful moments were RJ is taking his place and grabbing the reins. How can some of you miss this?

Honestly it has to be at a historic level.

It all boils down to not having a decent pg .

Yeah man rj is turing into a star right before our eyes. Randle is playing with energy!

We are missing a pg, this is what a lot of teams would look like without a pg running the offense. This is what we looked like before we traded for D Rose. If there’s anytime to give McBride a window opportunity now is the time, same with cam.

some are asking to understand. IM not saying I agree or not. I’ve saying for weeks to perhaps ask “what don’t I get that Thibs and the staff sees”. Cuz they, pro’s with honors and cred (Bryant? Payne? Thibs?) are not seeing to put Him in the rotation heavy with IQ ahead of him.

We can guess, and I have. But I won’t put myself over them and think I got it figured out. Maybe they are getting him ready for the last 10 games? I don’t know.

Team has chmestry issues but has not given up on THIBS. We build leads. Thats something to work off of.

If the NBA made an exception and only allowed the Knicks to count their best 2 quarters each game we'd probably be a playoff team...

I get what you are saying. But just because someone is a professional at something doesn’t make them flawless. True story, I’ve solved problems at my job in the first month, that was a problem for years. I’m no professional. I was a young engineer with little experience.

The point is thibs or his coaching staff, have not shown the capabilities needed on the offensive end. We are clearly out coached after halftime, in most of the games this season. And our offensive plays during timeouts has been below average. The FO is not perfect as well. They have not met expectations, based on last years success and this years free agent spending on players that do not fit coach thibs defensive philosophy.

Then we have players that do align with thibs defense, but not getting the playing time. Just doesn’t add up to me, regardless how many years or cred him and his staff has. They haven’t met expectations and coaches are measured by wins and development. So far we haven’t been winning with vets who are getting more minutes than the rooks. These are all facts not emotions.

IM not arguing. yoru stating the obvious. We assume a new coach or staff will solve the issues. We assume some players can plug in and do better.
We have no proof otherwise.
Im all for Deuce coming in and showing what he got. After all , we won't win again this season and have nothing to lose. But thats how we might see it. Knicks don't.
I can't tell you what they are thinking.

After the seasons they will no doubt access and consider all options.

If one wants to rant, thats cool. If someone says they don't understand Im just offering an opinion to what might be their thought process.
Im good with sitting Burks. I can't say things will be better. might be worse right? "What do we have to lose?? Maybe Thibs though with Drose coming back, Randle got the bug removed from his ass and we all good with RJ stepping in to take his place amung the gods.........Things might have been better. Sure we all doubted that because we are knick fans and destined to gloom and doom.

Im just turning on the games and watching. Leon and the FO get paid the big bucks to worry about this. Not me.

Here's my take - Thibs got us to respectability last season as we overachieved for a variety of reasons. He was always known for a few things - his teams will play hard, work on the defensive end, be offensively stunted and play at a slow pace. He seems to be a "my way or the highway" type of coach and prefers vets.

I don't feel as annoyed about him not playing McBride yet as I suspect that Thibs is weighing McBride's development vs how much he can help us on the court. As an example - maybe Grimes's impressive play would have been less had Thibs played him earlier on (eg before he was ready).

So is McBride a better choice vs Burks? Yes but maybe the front office is realizing that it really won't make much of a difference in terms of draft position regardless of who plays as we're pretty bad. It also makes me think that playing Burks is going to be better for possible trade options vs if you sit Burks for the remainder of the season. Of course this doesn't completely fit as Burks at PG is going to look worse compared to Burks as a SF or off the bench. Thibs reportedly wanted McBride so I wouldn't be shocked if McBride starts to play much more minutes at the beginning of next season.

McBride is 21 and the scouting on him was it might have been premature for him to come to the draft early. I remember listenting to one of his coaches preseason on KFS podcast. Coach said he is very young and he really put things together his sophmore year and he knew he'd likely sit and learn. I think that he is tearing up the Gleague is great, but you said it very well he can't play that freely in the NBA. He had one game he got hot and looked great. When not, its bad. really bad. He does not know how to mix it up and be the QB. He is a gunner. HOw do you do that and have Randle, RJ and Evan standing there saying "WTF"? while he goes running and gunning? Thibs will lose his team quick.

Thats a theory. Its not a bad idea to think about reasons why is it? More than Thibs, If Johnny Bryant is working with him, the guy that groomed Donovan Mitchell and Dame and thinks he is ready, then perhaps we can question Thibs. But we don't know this do we?
