Talent in league would not be overcome by his temper and nonsense. Starks likely knew it at end of career but at least he made some $$$ Turntable Musiclover & Mix-Master-ologist

![]() Those were my childhood Knicks throughout the entire 1990s right there and absolutely, loved them.
Starks lived for that. He loved it. Unfortunately his mental weakness game 6 vs Houston 1994 got the best of him, couldn't stop chucking/bricking and cost #33 and all of NYC an NBA CHAMPIONSHIP 🏆 because of it. Nonetheless I loved those NY team's back then. So much Heart. Fight. Grind. Toughness. Meanness. Physical. Fearless. Pride. All of those words come to mind when trying to describe our Knicks of the early 1990s. and they refused to back down from no one. No matter how many times Ewing would yell @ #3 at the end of the day Charles Oakley/Anthony Mason/Patrick Ewing were always down to fight. Anyone. For #3. John Starks was untouchable and he knew it. He had NBA killers who had his back. Man. I freaking MISS those days. |

![]() Man do I miss those teams. Back when there was real defense Stark’s was the first player with 200 made 3’s for a season in the NBA.
Starks is the Knicks' all-time leader in three point field goals (982). He was the first player in NBA history to make 200 three-pointers in one season; his 217 during the 1994–95 NBA season broke Louie Dampier's single-season professional (NBA or ABA) record of 199 during the 1968–69 ABA season. |
