Their GM has made a career out of pushing rebuilds further and further out. Let’s help him do it again. Good concept but that trade eats draft picks and salary at the same time. They need to take back salary. With Giddy, they really have no need in Joku. https://www.spotrac.com/nba/oklahoma-city-thunder/shai-gilgeous-alexander-26977/ Give a gander at his contract. 5 years $179Mil. Avg 34mm a year. Starts at 29mm and change and ends a 39mm. Thats 7mil more to than Randle makes in year one. By the last year its 10mm per. Money matters with trades. OKC is a bit of an mystery. WHo knows what they are trying to do and when they are trying to do it. |

Let’s help him do it again. We would need to use the Walker, Noel and Burks expiring contracts to facilitate a trade. The deal would essentially be those 3 plus all of the picks Knicks are willing to give. Although my favorite deal still is Randle, this years lottery pick and multiple future picks for Zion and nance. Zion probably isn’t going to play for them again and with Ingram and McCollum in the mix, they want to win. Randle can give them a third option locked into a long term deal and that team can at least be a solid playoff team if it clicks, which is what New Orleans badly needs. |
