With the keys being handed to Giddey (their hopeful Luka 2.0), will SGA be available? What could we offer?

3 FRP, 2 SRP, Cam Reddish, EF?

I'd send that to OKC.

Only concern is SGA is often injured, but we'd have our PG for the next decade (3 years in Knicks-land).

I'm pretty sure SGA would be able to play SG for them - again

I wanted Giddey last draft but he was taken two spots ahead of us. Everyone raves about Halliburton but Giddey is way better

If I was Knicks Prez...I would fire you on the spot if you came to me with this bullsh1t trade proposal.

5 draft picks and Reddish for SGA?! What in the world as SGA done in his young career to warrant such a huge package? I don't value draft picks as much as some here and think the Reddish trade was trash, but damn, this is a lot for someone who hasn't accomplished really....anything in the league.

I like SGA on the Knicks, and a fair package would be RJ Barrett, Noel and Walker. Outside of "swapping picks" I don't think the Knicks should have to give up any picks.
The key players in this would be SGA and Barrett. Walker and Noel are added to make it work financially and are on team friendly contracts which obviously favor the Thunder.

Noel, when healthy, can fill the center role for them nicely. Dort is a decent player for them but Barrett would be a big upgrade for them at the three spot. I think he will be able to shine playing along side Giddy and Mann

As a PG, Giddey is nice. Modern day Magic type player. Someone who impacts the game, without scoring.

Halliburton is a better scorer than Giddey and fits todays scoring guard mentality.

Personally I like them both and it depends on how your team is built. Giddey would be my choice as well, but don't sleep on Halliburton as a guard who can carry a team with his scoring alone. He's a better scorer than I expected at the NBA level, especially his 3 pt shot.

Haliburton was one of three PGs in Sac where all three were better than our starting PG. Nothing about Giddey made him seem available.

You know I gonna spin wit it

As SVG insists, all players are ours for the taking. Fans can have it all. we can even rewrite the past.

Wrong - we don't have a starting PG!

When this topic first came out, I did not think it was a credible option. However, SGA has stated that turning into a SG to allow Giddey to be the primary facilities is not his “Plan A.” He just signed a five year max extension. I think offering OKC, Quickley or EF, Toppin, and a first round pick should get it done. That gets OKC off of SGA’s high salary and gives them a solid shooting guard and a PF prospect plus a future pick. For us, we finally have a starting caliber PG.

I have to say, when I saw SGA slicing and dicing the Knicks earlier this year, I was impressed with his uncanny ability to get to the rack. I don't know about his defence.

SGA would be perfect. He’s young and close friends with Barrett. Offer the lottery pick this year, 2 additional first round picks, and Jokubaitis who seems like an okc project. Their GM has made a career out of pushing rebuilds further and further out. Let’s help him do it again.

Good concept but that trade eats draft picks and salary at the same time. They need to take back salary. With Giddy, they really have no need in Joku.

Give a gander at his contract. 5 years $179Mil. Avg 34mm a year. Starts at 29mm and change and ends a 39mm.

Thats 7mil more to than Randle makes in year one. By the last year its 10mm per.

Money matters with trades. OKC is a bit of an mystery. WHo knows what they are trying to do and when they are trying to do it.

We would need to use the Walker, Noel and Burks expiring contracts to facilitate a trade. The deal would essentially be those 3 plus all of the picks Knicks are willing to give. Although my favorite deal still is Randle, this years lottery pick and multiple future picks for Zion and nance. Zion probably isn’t going to play for them again and with Ingram and McCollum in the mix, they want to win. Randle can give them a third option locked into a long term deal and that team can at least be a solid playoff team if it clicks, which is what New Orleans badly needs.
