The margin of error in the league is so small. We miss him in close games. Even last year when Randle was at his best, the game was often won in the 4th quarters with Rose and Burks scoring when needed. Burks doesn’t have the magic this year and Rose is out. When healthy, Rose gives 24 mpg of quality PG play and shot creation. We need that plus another PG who can get us the other 24 mpg. We need 48 mpg of high quality PG play to control the game when Randle can’t and we are a 45 win team. Right now we get 0 mins of quality PG play. You can’t overcome that even against bad teams. Randle can dominate all night and when the game slows down it’s Simmons, Giddey and Mann getting the quality shots. Yet another year where we have the messiest PG situation in the league and you can’t overcome that.

Good point, but somehow, I think folks here will be more happy watching Grimes being developed to run the offense than Burks or IQ...

No we don’t. An even bigger problem than not having a serviceable pg on offense is we again cannot guard the opposing PG, ever. You saw it last night with a rookie Giddey scoring at will and Burks is supposed to be a decent defender
Rose has never been a good defender and certainly is not one now. We shoulda kept Frank

Or we could simply use McBride who is a pg, has had good games in the regular season here and is now inexplicably rotting in westchester
