Reports out of Utah are saying there’s continued tension. D Mitchell and Gobert do not get along. Mitchell is a flight risk.

Zion is still in an unsettled situation in NO.

KAT and Lillard are always up in the air.

Those 4 all hold connections to the Knicks. For Mitchell it’s CAA, Johnny Bryant and being local. For KAT it’s being local and CAA. For Zion it’s CAA and his Duke friends. For Lillard it’s Johnny Bryant.

There’s some real possibilities here that something may shake out this summer. If these possibilities are there, our many draft picks and expiring contracts will be used to facilitate. The goal is to add one of these players without losing Barrett. If a trade isn’t there by the draft, I may even consider trading our 2022 pick for future picks. Just to keep the options open and avoid a continuous rotation glut. But I’m keeping an eye on these 4 names and honestly rooting against their teams success in the meantime.

Mitchell - concussion issues scare me. He’s a physical pg who draws a lot of contact and already has 4 documented concussions. Maybe we can do a sign and trade for Gobert? Mitch had a monster game at Utah recently I’m sure it left an impression on the Jazz FO

Zion - can never stay healthy. Pass unless Pels are willing to take on Randle’s contract in a salary dump.

KAT - is he still considered a star? More like a very glorified Randle

Lillard - old, can’t play D. Pass.

Ja Morant in a couple years is the next big superstar that will leave in free agency but he’ll probably go to one of the California teams. All we can do is build through the draft

Starphuch dreams when season is lost. Hope.
Mitchell can ask for a trade. But he took the money.
Jah would pass on a max deal? That team is young and fun with good assets to keep building.

Any of KAT, Mitchell and Zion would be fine because they are young. No star is perfect, and Knicks fans tend to get way too picky from what they are used to. Nearly every player in the league comes with question marks.

Unfortunately, all of those so called reports are click bait from the media. Have we not been suckered in to kicking that football before?

Utah is not going to give up its only draw.
Zion is now anxious to play with CJ
KAT has one of the best young players in the NBA
Rose is not trading all of our assets for a guy off knee surgery.

Utah is asking for RJ, IQ and 3 first rounders in that deal.

I would prefer IQ, Grimes, Randle and 2 first rounders. That’s a fair deal potentially.

Big fan of RJ but if you could land D.Mitchell I would counter with RJ, IQ and 2 1st rounders. Obi and Burks available if needed

While separately trying to move Randle in a different deal (unless UT wanted him). Have to keep Grimes as his catch and shoot skills would likely play well off Mitchell.

Towns has one career playoff appearance including a 1-4 record. Same as Randle. They are both stat box filling PFs that don’t win
