We have the leading fg% player in the nba
On our team In Mitch Robinson yet the team as a whole sits in 27/30 position in the nba. Take ronsinson out and we’re close to dead last.
So we use draft capital( and this years draft is questionable BUT we used the capital on a 3 year player( now in his 4 th year) with efg over 100 nba games that is lower than our already low position. In other words we spent our capital on an established low % asset. What gave the Knicks any indication that would change after 3.5 years? I felt more like it was trading Kevin knox and getting back Kevin knox while adding very expensive draft capital.
For this team to get out of the doldrums we must find a way to get more efficient players. We have to many lower % players. I wonder if the first rd pick was better served as a conduit to take 1 or two of our lower % players. And while that doesn’t look great isn’t that what analytics is?Using statistical analysis to help drive decisions?
