Disappointing loss last night but it’s easy to take some positives away. Barrett is starting to emerge as the player we all hoped when he was drafted. He’s taking on more responsibility, hitting big shots in the clutch, and making plays in the halfcourt. It’s so important for his development to be the focal point of the franchise going forward and for them to find the right PG he can grow with that can bring more out of his game. Drose probably can’t save them again this year, so the goal should simply be to give barrett increased usage and see where things are at the end of the season. RJ may not be a franchise changing player, but it certainly can’t be ruled out.

I think we all agree RJ is a solid player that we want on the team for the next 10 years. The issue is finding the other players to play with him. I think the only keepers in this team are RJ and Mitch. Randle has to prove he has his head on straight. Grimes has to prove consistency. Toppin is probably traded if you keep Randle. Quickley has to establish what he is, whether that is a pg or Bobby Jackson type scorer. But at least RJ looks like a keeper.
