lets recap:
Paxson wont trade Curry for Nazr, but would do something if KT *or* Sweetney was involved. Considering the other players reportedly being offered for Curry I can see that. KT's value is pretty high right now.

Isiah loves Artest and would like to land him (whatever)

ERob will be a Knick pending a physical

Would you give up Kurt to get Curry? Then we're officially in complete rebuilding mode because we've given up our best low post defender (our only good one) for a player who we hope someday will develop into something special.

Hmmm... Tough one, considering how important Kurt Thomas is for this Knicks team to keep winning. Tough one if you want to win now...

You have too... you simply have too. Your out is you announce it as a one step back, two steps forward type deal. Losing KT will hurt you rioght now but EC represents something KT will never bring. In the meantime JYD is a good post defender in KT's absence. He just doesnt hit the jumper that KT does.

I would do it and I'm not an EC fan. But I agree, this is a risk you take. Now we try to develop a young big center with our other 4 guys.

its easier to get the "veteran help" than it is to get the blue chip. KT is first, EC is the 2nd. Its much easier to move someone like Nazr and cash and get a guy like Cliff Robinson who gives you a nice veteran defensive presence at the 4/5, than it is to get a 7 foot beast of a center with 25/10/2 potential. EC has that potential.

I agree with your post fishmike, this is something you have to do.. we are in this to win a championship in the near future, not just win a few more games, (KT will do that), but curry has the ability to put the knicks over the top...

I also agree but word out of chicago today is that Curry does not want to be traded, so we'll just have to wait and see what happens...GO KNICKS, LETS NOT GET CLIPPED TONIGHT

I would send Kurt with Nazr to get Curry every day of the year. That deal would actually help both teams, too.

I think Bulls will be pretty gunshy to do something like this. Nobody has lost more talented players than the Bulls in bad deals over the last few years. just imagine if their current line up was Brad Miller, Elton Brand, Artest, Crawford and pick your point guard. not too shabby. Rather have that team than ours

If he's somewhere in between, he's better than anyone we're likely to happen upon any time soon. BTW, I trust Zeke on young talent. I can't remember the last time I was able to say that about a Knick exec.

Exactly, will he be the guy who lost weight this yr and got in shape, or will he be a contract yr guy who will revert back to bad eating habits once he gets paid. You don't teach lazy.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

I'm one of the few that has defended KT in the past, he is a true Knick who contributes mightily to our team. However, if you can get Curry for him, you do it in a heartbeat. Fishmike said it best, Curry can give you something that Kurt will never give you. Plain and simple, we are just not ready to contend for a title right now. If you bring Curry in, you have a decent frontcourt in Curry and Sweets that can turn out to be one hell of a frontcourt. If Paxson would do a deal with KT in there instead of Sweets, then that is a risk you just have to take.
"This is a very cautious situation that we're in. You have to be conservative in terms of using your assets and using them wisely. We're building for the future." - Zeke (I guess not protecting a first round pick is being conservative)
