The silver lining to this season is we are still only 2 games back from 4th in the East and Quickley and Toppin have taken a significant step forward. If Randle, Barrett and Fournier all figure things out and IQ and Toppin continue to develop, this group will figure things out. A season is full of ups and downs unless you’re a contender.

The parity is crazy this year. 41 wins might be enough to get the 6th seed

It’s really that simple. We can say whatever about Randle and Barrett needing to step up but we badly need Fournier to be the 40+% high volume 3pt shooter/scorer we paid him to be, and right now he’s not. With this tweet in mind, Fournier will be the difference maker between wins and losses often.

But first Thibs needs to threaten to move him to the bench or suggest he gets extra shots up or something

Yup that seems to be the fix with the Knicks.

It was a bit remarkable to witness the coach call out RJ and RJ immediately responds next game with a 30+ point effort.
I was impressed that Thibs knew to pull that lever and that it actually worked.

I’m really hoping Obi can get a stretch at center each game. Eventually maybe Turner is the long term solution as a starter and Toppin becomes the primary backup center to give the team a different look. Or Noel remains a 12 mpg backup and Toppin gets into the 18-20 mpg range regularly.

Obi should be getting 20-30 minutes a night.

He may not pass like Randle, but he is great at finishing.

Last night Obi was doing basically whatever he wanted in the paint

Just remember he is doing it against second units and still struggles as a 3pt shooter and defender. He’s perfect in his role. I’d be afraid it wouldn’t translate with more than 20 mpg. But he absolutely deserves more opportunities.

Obi has gotten time against the other teams starters. But yea, I get it- however, he brings energy and easy baskets, something our starting line up desperately needs.

And I don't understand how come he ever stands outside the lane - he is just such a threat near the basket.

Honesty, 2 or 3 more points on the three point % and I'd be OK with the raw stats. It the turnovers that are killing me and the per game average doesn't come close to telling the full story
