We need to commit to our young talent.
This guy has so many skills we desperately lack in our rotation, Thibs needs to figure this out ASAP.
The concept that a rookie has to be buried on the bench just because he is a rookie is outdated.
McBride has what we need, Defense, 3 Point Shot, attacks the basket, and is developing his assist game.

If McBride starts and Quickly moves to the bench with Burks moving to the SG slot in the starting rotation, we would become a lot more balanced and significantly improve our overall defense.

why not?

Honestly, I think there are a couple moves before that.

I'm going with IQ into the starting line up.

Also, I'm not convinced that Mitch is healthy. Put him on the bench and give him 10 days off.

Start OBI.

So go with

IQ
Fournier
RJ
Randle
OBI

Noel, Rose & Burks can be your bench.

It can't be worse than what is happening now. I have no interest in watching this team anymore. At least I would be interested in watching our young players get time.

Sure, let's throw **** at the fan. I say we trade for Frank and give him a chance!!
This fan base is hilarious. One day it's that Burks needs to start. Kemba is the problem. Two-games later its let's give the guy with NO NBA experience a shot. smh

Yea, that was Thibs who said that. I don't want to speak for the OP but this thread seems to come from a place that if the team is going to stink we rather it stink because we are developing young talent rather than playing a bunch of expensive, low effort trash vets.

This is exactly right.
It will cost us a few wins, but it will bring us more long-term success than the current strategy, given the product on the floor so far this season.

Wow. Short memories. This team has a better record than they did last year at this time. Thibbs is still working on the rotation. Just relax. I like McBride but pulling a rookie into the starting lineup is not the answer.

The OP is right. I made a similar post sbout this in another thread. Thibs is most successful when he has players who play that rugged in your face D The only guards on this roster that do that are Deuce and Grimes. Thibs is not going to do it though which is a shame because starting those two would help turn this team around

I don’t get Thibs post game comments. He said first you have to make sure you have the effort right then the execution over a sample size before you make changes. So the effort sucks over a sample size of 20 games. It is inconsistent and it it obvious. So I am calling bull**** on that comment

(Sorry for my long rant)
Thibs didnt need to make any changes to the starting unit in the first place, not yet at anyway. All thibs had to do was continue to yank Kemba early for Burks. And see how burks runs with the SL in a larger sample size than just 1 ATL game. Then u make a decision to start Burks or not and at what position. What he would’ve saw was Kemba and SG/SF Burks is not the answer at PG. Instead thibs damaged Kemba trade value slightly with this move. And the W column hasn’t changed since. So now what? This next move will tell us a lot about thibs thinking. Does he swap rose for burks? How long will he use Burks in the starting lineup? Will thibs make another (save my azz) move? removing Kemba from the entire rotation and to publicly announce that was not smart. Because u need Kemba and his trade value in case this Burks experiment doesn’t work. Now instead we stuck trying to trade someone we just reduce in value and lost our trading leverage. So now we get pennies on the dollar.

Thibs is officially on the hot seat. Right next to Randle. I believe the only person that can save us is Leon Rose. Our FO set us back in the off season. So they have to bring us forward during the season. Look at the lakers. They traded their defensive role players for Westbrook, melo and vets. Their defense went from top 5 to bottom 5. We can hate on ELF and Bullock. But collectively, we had a better defensive team. And Thibs needs a defensive team to flex his offensive muscle, which drives his offensive strategy. But when thibs needs to be creative on offense to make up for our lack of defense, thibs looks like an average coach, because he’s not an offensive coach. He needs defenders to help his offense. Otherwise we will look like this all season. Lose to bad teams, best some good teams. Or as of recently, lose to bad teams and lose to good teams. Randle is doing everything he can. I’m waiting on the rest of the team to step up. Has anybody seen RJ?

I've always had the attitude, if they can't be bothered to show up, why should I. Last year I loved watching the team, even before we were winning because of the effort the played with. This year you're lucky to get half a game of effort out of them. Nowadays I wait until after the game and just watch the Q's that the bench go off.

I'm sure the coaching staff considered the on/off with Kemba and already had data with Burks playing with the SL - Kemba barely finished games. We can assume that just the point of starting is not the hinge factor?

The SL WAS the problem, both offensively and defensively for both 1st and 3rd quarters in particular, so why wouldn't you adjust there?

I don't understand the concept of hot seat in this particular case. Does anyone really believe Thibs will be fired or anywhere close to it? You are only on hot seat if you are vastly under performing or something with what you are doing is clearly not working. The Knicks - and Thibs in particular - are not there. Maybe they are not meeting some expectations, but those are not set by the team in the context of what they are working with.

Not for nothing, but Randle and RJ should be on the hot seat, they are vastly under performing to the level that they set last year.
