I’m shocked at his ascension. What a player he’s becoming.

Would Deuce have developed the same way with IQ still on the roster?

Still wouldn't mind having them both around for the playoff run.

The basketball god took pity on us after letting Frank, Knox, Grimes, and Obi flounder in their respective development as players on the Knicks.

Deuce is what happens when you take Steph Curry and inject him with OG

Definitely not. The minutes and opportunity just wouldn’t be there. I wonder if there’s another level McBride can eventually hit. Would have to be off-the-dribble creation.

There’s always another level for a young coach able and humble player like deuce. This is not a finished product. Just hope we get to see that ceiling as a Knick. He’s the perfect low cost option off the bench for a championship caliber team. His friendly contract allows rose to build a competitive team for years to come.

And I agree. He would’ve been buried behind IQ with limited minutes.

IQ is going to be a great player of course if we could have kept him we would have found a way but he had to be sacrificed to get OG along with RJ. Player that could have still kept Deuce out of the lineup was Grimes. Grimes would have shared time with Dante and Deuce would have only played behind Brunson most of the time. Grimes regressed, he missed shots, and didn't adjust his game. Then must have starting acting in a way that got him traded, team didn't feel keeping him was essential going forward because of Deuce. Felt Grimes production could be replaced by Burks or Shake Milton. The next off-season we will sign, trade, or draft a back up 3 and D combo guard, maybe Rokas for the bench

I’m a huge Grimes fan since draft day but stop it.

Grimes would’ve guarded Maxey tough but scared to shoot or shot 0-5 and we lose. Deuce would’ve been on the bench and I would’ve created multiple posts complaining about deuce lack of PT.

We needed deuce in the position he was in at the mins he played to win this game period. Deuce needed IQ and Grimes to be traded for him to shine.

Credit to Leon rose for trading IQ and Grimes.

Credit Thibs for developing deuce.

Deuce had to go thru on his path. Things develop on a schedule that is not always explained.
He is 23, developed just fine. More sooner might not have accelerated things.
He progressed. He tore up the G-League but then struggled again with is his shot. What was it? We don't know.
He played as needed great defense and he was kept in the parent team. Team kept him and he showed up in practice.
Then given his chance. That he progressed was part of the trade. He made IQ expendable.
Just enjoy it folks.
