The two key guys however HAVE to play consistent Barrett and Randle. Were gonna get a boost from Burcks. Our defense will start to look like last years.IT MIGHT not be the only move we need to make--but it WILL HOPEFULLY give the needed injection to get this back to a 50 win clip.
Briggs....I appreciate the optimism, but you need to understand this isn't a 50 win team. The sooner you accept this, the sooner you'll be able to cope with the next round of disappointing losses.
I really think we are a better team than people think but just have to have the right mix of guys playing together.
so I think the thing is we likely are a 50 win (regular season) team. Thibs is a really good coach and the big line up is going to get the defense going again and hopefully continued growth of Obi/IQ fuel the 2nd unit.Thibs is a coach who gets you more wins plain and simple. Every team he goes to dramatically increases their wins immediately. He lets guys play and pushes the right buttons. The problem is come playoffs its still the NBA and the stars and loaded teams with great finishers win, and the feel good hustle teams like we had last year go home. We still need MORE upper echelon talent whether its external or one of our guys blows up (IQ/Obi its your turn to disappoint the fan base)
A 39-23 record will be tough the rest of the way, especially as more teams get healthy. I don't see it, but I hope I'm wrong.
The league has improved way to much for that. I'm just hoping the team can finish Top 6. It was pretty likely this team was going to finish with a worse winning percentage but be a tougher playoff opponent this year. Can't keep losing to the Magic if we are going to stay out of the play in rounds
That’s the thing. Even if we improved last offseason the rest of the Eastern Conference did as well and last season was a little flukey due to covid and Lebron’s stupid bubble tournament that happened just 2 months before
It's pretty clear that you guys look at the standings and the talent on teams to determine how good they are. But almost every team in the league has had issue form injuries to inconsistent play, and the parity is like no other season i have ever witness.
The top 10 teams in the east are separated by less than 3 games, and i just don't see any dominate team in the NBA let alone the EAST.
There's just no team in the NBA that look like world beaters
