I'd rather get a player with better work ethic if we're giving up Sweetney.

No offense but please bite your tongue. I can't stand the thought of giving up Sweetney for that tree sloth. You sound like a glutton for punishment. Or is this part of your game plan for blowing up the team and sucking?

im as big a mike sweetney fan as anyone here. but im a knick fans first because it would be young for young i have no problem with it. work ethic huh give me the c and let us work with him. Eddie Curry still has massive potnetial and sometimes big guys take a little more time. it would give us a LEGIT post up player who has the potential to be a dominating player. Mike is good and Nazr can be good--its a fair swap. I dont think chicago could do better if you look at the immediate help in the middle. they can keep Ty and play him with Nazr at C.

No question in my mind that we do this if we can.

Realistically, this is the type of deal that will get Curry or a young player like him here. You have to give up something to get something in return.

While Curry's work ethic does worry me, real centers are much harder to come by than undersized PFs, so I would understand this trade even while not totally agreeing with it.

This is his 4th season and people are still talking about what he may do in the future.Id rather keep Sweetney, offer Nazr and some future picks. They cant get enough of those.

yea but the difference here is that curry was 18 entering the league, in reality he should still be in college now( which would have been a wise move) refining his game. we are not talking about a 28 year old guy who has unfufilled potential, curry is what, 21?

Im not for building around Eddy, but if it must be done Briggs idea makes sense. We have to nail a PF in this draft!

Bonnie, If Eddie had a better work ehtic he would not be discussed in trade. He would have been extended and on day you can outfit little Bonnies with Eddie signature sneakers.

Does Eddie even have a cool nickname?

I'll suggest one - Curry Not In A Hurry (for out-of-towners, the classic restaurant on 27th and Lex is Curry IN A Hurry)

it is a fair deal but boy is it a risk. EC is going into his contract year and there are so many question marks. You talking about making a huge financial commitment to a very big question mark. This is the kind of mistak that could really cripple us moving forward.

I cant argue with the upside, I'm just not sure Curry is the right fit for this group however. A more athletic defensive type just makes more sense. I would rather have Dalembert than Curry for example.

Exactly. It paves the way for an athletic 6-10 PF. No I wouldnt build around Curry, but rather have him as a piece of the puzzle. I dont see much risk in the trade because you are giving youg for young and throwing in Nazr who was a giveaway trade-2 days ago no one even wanted Nazr. Nazr will have some good games, but he still is a back up. Eddie Curry still has extreme potential ALONG with a series of proven games

He is 22,yes he is still young but is another player with a questionable work ethic. We have our own homegrown pick that works very hard and is improving. If you could convince me that Sweets wasnt going to amount to much Id buy your argument but I havent seen any evidence of that.

This is the first time in many, many years that we have our own draft picks being given the opportunity and showing that they can have a real impact on this team.

I really dont understand why we should risk it on someone like Curry who is just as well known for being lazy as he is for his potential.

The risk I see is based on my prediction - Sweetney will become one of the very best PF's in the league and will be a tremendous competitor and team guy. Curry will become a chronically overpaid and underproductive player who will be a constant drain on team morale.

i would rather go this route:

Sweetney, TT, Nazr, cash & a future pick

for

Curry, Davis & Nocioni

C - Curry / Davis
PF - KT / JYD / Baker
SF - Ariza / Nocioni
SG - JCraw / Penny
PG - Marbury / Moochie / Brewer
IR - Houston / Sundov

The risk I see is that we are taking too much of the Bulls roster and trying to make them our own. It didnt work in Chicago and I doubt it will work here. There are many other teams in the league to deal with. Sure there arent Curry's on every team but there is talent out there that is available for the right price. Find the right piece to the puzzle, not just the ones that are available.

If I siad at the end of the basketball season last year that we would be able to trade

Dikembe Harrington Williams Nazr Sweetney Trybyanski Hardaway

for
Curry Crawford JYD and Antonio Davis, everyone wouldve been happy.

the differnce between having the bulls players here is that we have Stephon Marbury at PG and they don't.

I like the scenario where we trade TT to Philly for Glen Robinson then trade Glen and Nazr for the Curry package.
http://amonthhoffundays.blogspot.com/ We got a ringer.
i would offer this to the Bulls for Curry[a very fair deal]
