Im watching the Clippers now against the Pacers and they are all over the boards and in the paint area taking point blank shots at will. i will say they have 4 BIg dudes muscular wise in brand maggette simmons and wilcox+ they have a 7 footer coming off the bench who is athletic and long. not really a great perimeter shooting team, but they are getting the ball at the basket and playing ping pong over the rim.

The clippers you mentioned are posting great stats but does it translate into wins Seeing that it's the Clippers, I'll say no...

They have more wins than the Knicks.

Crawford and Marbury should abuse their backcourt, and I want to see Sweetney get Brand in foul trouble and Ariza check Maggette. Should be an interesting game.

I don't like NY's chances against that big front line... Indiana lost big against them (albiet w/o Artest).

brand may be hard to get in foul trouble, but I'd want to see how the Knicks D can manage this young athletic lineup. We need to see TT play to his fullest and score against the shorter Maggette, GRAB MORE BOARDS than him, not brick shots, and PLAY D. I'd like Sweetney vs. Brand in lineups where there is no Nazr. Otherwise, I also like Wilcox vs. sweetney as two young stars with similar skills in rebounding and low post defense. we couldv'e had him. Also, I'll see how the backcourt 2004 with Marbs and crawford beat up Jaric, the young Shaun Livingston, and Bobby Simmons. TT better contain Maggette. everyone must play D and not leave open shots. Knicks shall win at home. look at Marbs last home game vs. Clippers. 42 pts!

as for indiana...what about that team?

they have their share of injuries but the only one i really give them is foster. reggie has nowhere near the impact he used to and i think stephen jackson is a more than adequate replacement.

artest is thinking about changing his number to 2PAC. this guy is nuts.

he's an AWESOME player but he's a bonehead. he probably cost indy their last shot in the series vs. detroit last year with that intentional foul on rip.

j.o. has to get healthy but would a 50 or less win season count as disappointing?

there's a LONG LONG LONG way to go so they could go on and win 30 in a row in the east.

but i'd be more concerned as an indy fan than a knicks fan.

I am excited about Fri... its and ultra interesting matchup. They should kill us at every frontcourt position and we should likewise kill them in the backcourt. The question is can our wing players make it easy enough on our frontcourt guys to win? ie; easy baskets, forcing turnovers and transitiong game. Should be interesting.

i dont like talking about individual match-ups, but i think maggette is a better player than Crawford by a pretty wide margin. He is going to outweigh him by 40 pounds and is more athletic.

we match up well because they are soft on the bench and at PG which is our main position. so we just have to play hard in the paint--

Even without artest and the other injured players, I don't think the Clippers are going to beat Indiana like they did tonight every time.... I'll wait at least 20 games before making a decision about whether the Clippers are a competitive team looking for a playoff seed in the west...

Very few games against western conference teams will be easy. The west is just so much deeper than the east

just curious, how did Wilcox play? i noticed he didn't score many points, but neither did J.ONeal...was Wilcox's defense the difference in holding JO to 8 points, or was that mostly Brand's doing?

It should be very interesting. I'm also dieing to see how Sweetney fairs up against a guy like Brand. He's a should be allstar, and I'm just curious how Sweets holds up, and whether or not he gets demolished in the post.

clipps had a golden opportunity to beat detroit the other night, but the thing about the clippers is that if the game is close, they seem to have problems pulling those wins out, Brand seems to dissapear late and I think the knicks can pressure that team into turnovers, jaric at times seems shaky. I think we can win this game, but wilcox will be the X factor for the clipps, we have no big man really that can match his athleticism...

One thing I'm afraid of is that when teams come to the Garden to play once a yr they usually try to bring their "A GAME" to impress the crowd and media. As briggs said we better come prepared with two days off.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

briggs beat me to this topic. i am a little shocked about how well the clips are playing but they do this every few years. start off hot and fall off. reality sets in. it better happen tomorrow. the big difference is their coaching. they finally have a good coach, the first since larry brown. dunleavy is not great by any means but he knows what to do with his talent. they have talented players but they are young ( only kerry kittles is over the age of 25). and like an earlier post said, if you pressure them and keep it close in the fourth quarter, they should rattle.
we better be prepared for the next game
