what do you think? Did Isiah fire him as a warning shot or did he actually just resign for personal reasons like Lenny said I personally think if it was a warning shot isiad would have said something like "we needed to make a change".. they downplayed it which suggests in my opinion he really just stepped down, so it seems to me like the media is blowing this out of perportion
Isiah was pissed, Helm got the boot
Media over reacting, Helm just stepped down like lenny said

Of course he was fired! Good! He deserves to be fired. They all do, starting with that douche bag Dolan (pardon mon Français, goddammit!)

Yes, the media is blowing it up. Hello! That's what they do for a living. They don't get days off when nothing's happening. They have to write something regardless, so they find the most interesting angle for a Knicks story for today, and someone getting fired is always more interesting than "they practiced on Monday, they better not suck Tuesday!"

The blowouts are symptomatic of a big hole in our defensive set up.

No.1 assistant is a very large piece of the coaching staff.

IF Isiash takes over, who is the GM? I don't like GM-Coaches. It was done for a while but most teams found it does not work long term.

Isiah needs to put a strong person as coach. Lenny is his lapdog, its just not his gig. Lenny is alright, but Isiah needs to choose his duties.

He can be general, but needs his people to be strong under him and let them do their job. Is Isiah secure enough to delegate?

Too much Isiah dilutes his effectiveness.

Neither do I.In almost any sport that combination usually means trouble.Isiah has has injected youth into the lineup. He wants to make the playoffs but he is developing talent as well.If he annointed himself coach he might scrap that and go for the quich fix and stock the team with retreads. We have enough already.

Didnt he promise Dolan that he wouldnt make himself GM and coach?

If and when Wilkens gets the boot I hope he goes after Lambeer, Cooper or just lets Aguirre be the coach of the team.

if he wasn't into it then why didn't he quit before the season? because he was definitely asked to leave

I am not sure about that. There is a good chance he quit on his own.
