T.Thomas was complaining that the guy he was guarding was too fast last game... so I was thinking, he has played PF before, why not have him play PF again? At PF he might be forced to play a little more physical, maybe getting banged up at PF might get him pissed off and actually get him into the games. Also since he would draw out his defender, then this would allow us more penetration, and more trips to the foul line. I think 90% of our wins will depend on how many times we make it to the foul line.

This way we have Williams and Ariza splitting minutes at SF, and T.Thomas starting at PF with Sweetney backing him up and K.Thomas at center with Mohammed backing him up. This way Baker gets minimal minutes.

K.Thomas
T.Thomas
Williams
Crawford
Marbury

that's solid... w/Sweetney, Mohammed, Ariza and Hardaway completing the 9 man rotation.

This way not all of our scoring is concentrated on the small positions and JYD can help out on the front and backcourt. With Sweetney and T.Thomas at PF we have post up capabilities the whole game. With Baker as the last post up resort in case of foul troubles. And K.Thomas and Mohammed can keep doing what they do.

Yes, Sweetney won't start but I think this lineup could completely turn things around.

Interesting. I like that lineup against fast SFs. I wish Lenny had made the adjustment in game.

Stevo I like that line up, make somebody adjust to what we do instead of the other way around.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Yeah I can see that lineup doing some damage. Lenny might make it happen...hopefully. Maybe not the starting lineup, but during a few significant stretches in the game.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Hey, being featured on the front page with the fellas is reward enough...

Silver, I like that lineup too. They can both be used interchangeably during games.

TT is averaging 3 rebounds a game at SF...i wouldn't want him starting at PF...maybe in some rotations where you want to go small & create mismatches, but for the most part, we need to have someone who can rebound the ball in the frontcourt.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

if we're facing a big squad with 3 PFs/Cs, then the lineup would be good. I don't know if Sweetney can face the quick SFs.

What about running Ariza at small forward, he's probably their best defender?

Thing is, quickness at the 3 spot would kill the Knicks with that lineup. And they would not be a good rotating defensive team.

Oh, thats no prob. What we can do is move Crawford to SF and Sweetney to SG. Bang....the front court is quick as hell.

Then we're too slow at SG. You have to move Sweetney to PG for this to work

I suggested this on another board.....

TT/Nazr/Baker
Sweetney or KT/KT or Sweetney/JYD
Ariza/JYD
Crawford/Penny
Marbury/Norris
