Its....its...... ITS A WINNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH!!! How much we missed one!

I have to say, Marbury really looks like he is about to take his game to the next level and become that real leader we needed. This isn't the selfich Marbury. Just look at his numbers today!

Great game. Nazr played very well, as I have said a number of times before we need him to play well for us if we are going to have a really good season.

Ariza has continued to impress me despite my high expectations for him. The kid is simply amazing, he has instincts you cannot teach.

I was away from the TV but I heard an announcer (I think it was Walt) say something about the team worrying a player might have broken his hand in practice, but that it turned out to be not as bad as they thought. Then I noticed that Sweetney was playing with his hand taped up. Were they talking about Sweetney or someone else?

I must have missed the announcer comment on that. Sweets sprained his thumb on Saturday against Boston and just taped it up tonight.

Nice win and here are a few things I like to note:

KT was a beast, defensively and on the boards

Crawford was good, giving us scoring early and a good extra ball handler late

Marbs played poised and scored when needed

Ariza was fantastic and sweetney impressive

Penny played a quiet but effective game and nazr was very good, scoring off missed shots and crashing the boards..

I like how we had 4 ballhandlers on the floor late and philly could not guard them all, we got some easy shots. I like the play when ariza found craw for a layup at the buzzer, that was nice..

one side note: Iguodala was a lotter pick, Ariza a second rounder? could you tell the difference? IMO I think ariza will be the better all around player.. that is just me tho....

I was thinking the same thing.

Ariza should have been a mid to late lottery pick

This nice thing is the Knicks didn't play a great game and still won.

- They shot poorly from behind the 3pt line.
- They shot poorly from the free throw line.
- Still not a good game from TT.
- Sweetney played well but was limited by the refs.

Lots of room for improvement.

I'd say Ariza, Crawford, Kurt, and Nazy had great games.
Stephon and Sweetney had solid games.
Penny was a nonfactor.
TT had an awful game.

I thought Lenny coached his best game as a Knick today. (No Moochie, no sticking with players in stumps or having defensive problems) The Knicks played more defense today than they played in their first 2 games combined.

Nazr was absolutely fabulous today. I really feel today showed me why just having his big 6'11 presence just adds a dimension that we just can't afford to take away from the starting lineups. Today, he hustled, played excellent D, and was a demon on the glass.

KT was also fantastic, showing once again how good a player he can be under the right circumstances. He too played great D, rebounded extremely well, and played with fire.

Ariza just continues to amaze. In these 3 games so far, he has outplayed TT in EVERY facet of the game, including scoring! He was everywhere doing everything. It's just a pleasure to watch a homegrown player like him on the court. TT once again had a poor game. This keeps up, it looks like our mid second-round pick will be starting!

Same thing with Sweets. There is no sweeter feeling than watching a homegrown talent mature into a centerpiece of your team. He established for us a post presence and if not for some dubious officiating, would have had himself a great game.

Other than that Marbury and Crawford had inconsistant games, but managed to get the job done when they needed to. Marbury's defense still needs a lot of improvement, as those Crawford's, but both played filled up the stat sheet, which is what we need them to do in Houston's absence.

It was a solid effort from a team that desperately needed a win. Let's hope they can build on it!

Penny just came back from a tight hamstring. He'll contribute more when he lossens up over the next couple of games.

TT's gotta be feling the squeeze already. I am glad he's in that situation- now he has no choice but to step up or ride the pine.

BTW, Lenny tightened up the rotation tonight. It worked well enough tonight, but we'll see if it can gel sooner than expected.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!
