Caught this from a commentary article over at the DailyNews:
Easing the Pain — The supreme test for a voice is working a blowout.
On Monday, MSG's Marv Albert and Walt (Clyde) Frazier were faced with trying to keep viewers interested as the Knicks were being torched by Charlotte.
The duo used humor.
If you didn't stick around, here's a couple of their better lines.
With 5:10 left in the fourth, and the Hornets up 102-60, Marveloso pointed out that Hornets rookie Kirk Haston "owns 65 hours of tape of Andy Griffith shows."
When Clyde didn't pick up on the line, Albert offered his own punctuation mark.
"That doesn't make him a bad guy," Albert said.
Then, with 3:25 left, Albert said he was "amazed" so many fans were still in the Garden to watch "unwatchable basketball."
Frazier: "Yeah, they are real fans."
Albert: "Or they have nothing to do."
