Love what I am seeing from McBride in Summer League, but I guess what Quick did against the pros last season doesn't count? Either way, I don't think Deuce and Quick should be competing for the same minutes.

Not gonna lie..was thinking the same thing if he has similar success when the season starts…..could make quickly a prime trade piece to upgrade..

With walker and rose here, no room for him to play early in the season.

I can see him making a splash during the tail end.

It took nads for the FO to play around w trades to draft him where they did. If i knew he was this good I would have drafted him at 19 or 21

Someone in Knicks FO has brass ones!

It’s just summer league but he seems equal to or better than iq.

I would still put iq ahead of him currently because he is proven in real games.

I think cooper is like 5-11 no shoes because McBride had 2 inches on him. Iq seems to be 2 inches taller than McBride.

Don’t worry about minutes. It’s a long season. We all know rose Kemba burks Robinson and Noel are injury prone and need minutes restrictions. The rookies will be playing.


What is important is that our fragile players get us off to a good start record wise before they go on their injury vacations 😅

Grimes is an upgrade to bullock also. He doesn’t have his vet knowledge yet though.

Just for the record, I said Mcbride will be my new favorite knick....just watching the 1st summer game, how he moves his feet on defense and his toughness. What i didn't know is how good he can shoot. But Grimes gave Mcbride his leadership props. Saying when you see a guy giving that kind of effort, it's contagious.

Love the enthusiasm...but slow down a bit. IQ is the engine that makes everything go. Mcbride will have his time to shine. Right now he's still learning what it means to be an NBA player.

Have you forgot how excited you was after Kevin knox SL performance? I'm sure you created a similar post after he torched SL. Now he's on the chopping block...Especially with this loaded roster.

Big fan of Deuce. He has really shown us some game in the preseason. Just a SOLID player.

Only problem he is going to have is not having an explosive 1st step (to get to the hoop.) He seems a bit ordinary there
but being a smart guy I'm sure he will work on change of speed and other crafty play to drive better.

Let’s assume Walker and Rose split the minutes at PG when healthy and IQ sees his minutes off the ball. McBride should be used in a situational defensive role if needed but will likely receive many DNPs. But each Walker and Rose may miss 20-25% of the games this season which means there’s probably about half the games McBride can slide into the rotation for 15-20 mpg. Knicks can basically treat the PG position as RB-by-committee and use McBride as a change-of-pace defensive guy as a rookie. I feel great about this PG position going forward. 2 former all-stars playing limited minutes plus 2 young studs giving a fresh look as they develop.

Vildoza will figurine in here if he can play. His injury might have been just bad timing as it likely was bothering him in the olympics? If so he’ll get a chance in preseason.

Knicks have opportunities. McBrde is one of them. He either plays because he is kicking ass or by default due to injury and incompetence.

IQ as PG perhaps because of his size and long term potential. Maybe it does not come together this year in that capacity, but next?
Even Lou Williams had to have some playmaking skills to lengthen his career.
The lack of it ended Trier’s. IsoZo had nice NBA level offensive skills but playmaking was abysmal.

There’s something that doesn’t get talked about enough about vildoza. If all contracts are exactly what they are reported, than Vildoza would need to be waived under his current non-guaranteed contract. He could be brought back using an exception, but there are some cap gymnastics that need to be worked out for him to be part of the mix. Given the overall success of Quickley and McBride in SL, and the struggles of Vildoza all summer, have to be legitimately concerned that Vildoza isn’t part of the equation. But still a lot of time to work out those details. A few new contracts haven’t been made official by the team yet.
