Grimes game is so smooth that he always ends up with more points than I think he had by the end of a game.

Grimes looks like a 10 year vet on his catch and shoot technique, and he has great range on his shot.

Given the fact that we didn't have a lottery pick, this was a great group of picks to watch.

I have not felt this good about our future in a long time. I love this front office. Who would have thought Leon Rose would be our savior.

A quiet assassin type player. He's not fancy, so you don't really notice him that much.

Only turned 21 a few months ago, too.

Will be interesting to see how Thibs integrates him into the lineup, if he does at all.

Not very often when all our draft picks meet or exceed my expectations in SL. Throw in good performances by Obi and IQ, and it is hard to remember a more fun SL.

My final thoughts on all our young players.

Quick: Quick had a real good summer league. However, I did not really like him playing PG but I understand the reason why he is doing it. This will benefit him when the regular season starts. I really hope he can improve his consistency because we already know he can play in the NBA.

Obi: Obi had a real good summer league. He has improved a lot but he is still too turnover prone and not efficient. He should get more minutes but I can see him being pulled if he starts turning the ball over. You can clearly see he worked hard on his shooting. He just needs to learn when and when not to shoot a 3.

Sims: His role is simple but he plays it well. He might be one of the most important players on the team. The one game he missed the team looked bad. They missed his gravitational pull as a roll man, his intimidation on D and his great ball screens.

Rokas: He looked nervous his 1st game but after that he showed you why the Knicks drafted him. He has potential but him growing overseas is perfect for everyone involved.

Grimes: He had an excellent summer league. I thought he was having a good summer league even when he was in a slump because he rebounds at an elite rate for a SG and had above average asts for a SG. I did not even mention his good defense yet. He did everything well but shoot during his slump. Once he got out of his slump he was amazing. The only thing he lacks is a quick 1st step to get to the hoop but if he had that he would have been a lottery pick.

McBride: This guy has been amazing. He is not a passer like Cooper but he is good enough when you take into account everything else he does. Elite defense and effort every night. His 3pt shooting has been amazing. His mid range game has been good and it makes you forget he does not have a float game. Like Grimes the only thing he lacks is a quick 1st step to get to the hoop but if he had that he would have also been a lottery pick.

While everyone on draft night thought the Knicks had a terrible draft I think we had an amazing draft for starting out with 19, 21 and 58.

For some reason he reminds me of Allan Houston. Shooting stroke different but has some of the same mannerisms.

I said the same thing,, to me a combination of Houston and Clyde

he is smaller than houston.

the guys played a great game. incredible shotmaking, tons of swishes, and the hops our guys have, especially Jsims and Obi are incredible. The shot making though is fantastic with the swishes. I wonder if this will translate to regular league.

I have been so impressed with the hops all players have been demonstrating in summer league, and the shots that have been made are incredible.

For Grimes, Courtney Lee with more scoring potential and better rebounding looks like an interesting comp. He's a little bit of a do everything player. When he wasn't shooting well he was active in other facets of the game, but when his shot was falling he started looking big time. With McBride and Grimes we have two guys who you can clearly understand what their roles could be and where they would fit. Whether they become stars or not is an open question, but you can see exactly how they fit on the Knicks and what they can contribute to.

He really seemed to gain confidence as he played more games.

His form is solid...he squares up to the basket well, has a quick release, and showed superior range.

Maybe it was the talk...maybe he just settled in, who knows, but he and McBride really put on a 3 pt show.

the thing about Grimes and McBride is they will shoot if open, and won't take a lot of time to do it. Not a lot of hesitation. Not a lot of bad shots

That forces the opponent to play that much tighter on D, and helps with the spacing for others.

Thibs has a nice problem. More depth than he's used to
