This really hurt us as we ended up getting nothing for Frank and could have gotten something for him in trade market.Payton also hurt Quickley's development at the PG slot.
We may have lost a few more games, but we would be better for it as a team if we had not wasted those minutes on the Elfrid.
Thibs sat frank (maybe he played him all of 5 minutes) when both Rose (covid) and Payton (hamstring) were out.
You think frank was tearing it up in practice and thibs sat him...
You know what kind of Guard play thibs likes (downhill..see rose see kemba)
He hurt is own development by practicing in empty GYMS, refusing G league assignments, never requesting a trade
He hurt his development by not providing us video of him playing pickup?
LOL,
This thread is about Elf being part of the rotation over 72 games that contributed to our being the 4th seed and 10 games over .500.
My take is the team got better and his minutes declined because he did not. Was it he was depressed by his lack of time? I did not read that but some of you made assumptions.
As for him hurting Franks development? Let’s just say that even at its best it was bad timing of coaches, FO personal, and injuries over 4 years. Even some missed opportunities but fact he stuck because of his defense and thats not a bad thing.
With Thibs, you don’t lose games to develop. He plays rookies but they have to contribute even if its small minutes. Frank contributed his defense. Was it humiliating? Maybe, but that was at the end. Thats all he had in the eyes of his coach. Is he a PG? Is he arrogant? Stubborn? Too Passively French? All opinions based on what you see on tv or media.
We drafted and it he did not stick. Very common in the NBA. WOn’t be the last time it happens to the knicks.
HIs trade value was obviously not high enough or Knicks held out hope he would still improve. Maybe he did not fit our plans gong forward and not for the qualified offer. Perhaps he did not want to make less. Most likely he wants to play and will seek opportunity elsewhere. If its here or abroad we’ll find out.
