Lonzo & Randle were real tight in LA and assume they still are. As long as there is no Ball family drama, Lonzo would be a solid pick up. Thibs will love his defense.

Could be. Could also be a smokescreen in contract negotiations with Jackson or Dinwiddie. This is SOP in pro sports

Why would it be a smoke screen?

Collin is more of the downhill type of PG Thibs prefer as oppose to Ball, who almost never penetrates.

I hope we do get him, Ball would be a 3rd option for me

The Knicks can drop 2 salaries in Knox and Obi. They pick up about 5 mil in cap space. Also they get to kick the tires on Sexton to see if he's a good fit. Lonzo wants 20 mil a year, for four years. Too much money for him not being the perfect piece. Don't be surprised if you see Sexton in Knick gear next year.

Nah Lonzo is Klutch sport and we’re CAA. That would be working with the opposition

Not okay with giving up either Obi or Quick.. but looks like it will take one of them and one of our 1st rounders.

Still think we sign Lonzo to an offer sheet that Pelicans don’t match.

Like the idea of Lonzo & Quick in the backcourt with RJ at the 3. Re-sign Rose & Burks. Keep draft picks.

Although Sexton seems to be Thibs type of player.. if it’s pick #21 & Knox, then I do the trade.

But do we sign Ball to an offer sheet Chicago doesn't match? And, realistically, what shot does any team have if the Clippers wiggle their way into the mix?

or a smokescreen for a pg target in the draft, like sharif...who was starting to rise on some boards, perhaps thwarting the knicks plans. It's been pretty quiet on that particular front since the sexton news.

It’s not a terrible amount to give up, but I don’t love the kids attitude. Kind of reminiscent of Reggie Jackson when he was OKC, always thinking he was the best player on the floor. I think his attitude is suspect.

If you’re the Cavs why are you letting a kid go that can score the ball and is that age??

I don’t think Toppin is going to develop into a big time player, but the Cavs are building out a nice team. Add in another pick this season and they are more well balanced than the Knicks with Allen, Garland, Okoro and the Topping next to the defender he needs. Need to be careful with these young teams like Detroit snd Cleveland.

Because you have Garland and the 3rd pick.

Cavs are a young team with no leader, and avg coach and staff, no solid Vets.

Your talking about a Franchise that somehow couldn't even keep LBJ and Kyrie, that frustrated Love to the point he just stop giving a fck..

They are always full of questionable moves when it comes the Organizationn

Not to mention I believe he's a year away from free agency the the Cavs probably don't want to commit to him long term as they're in rebuilding mode again. They probably also wouldn't mind moving away from an undersized backcourt who collectively can defend.

I think the Sexton talk is just about putting feelers to the teams that have cap space for trade movement.

Cavs in a spot where they prob need vets. No idea how they feel about Love.

May need to move Jarrett Allen if they draft Mobley.

Want to move on from Sexton cause he and Garland just dont fit plus the whole contract thing.

I think there's also the hope Green is available when they pick. In that scenario, I think they'd want Sexton to disappear as quickly as possible.

I don't think this is a feeler test, all reports indicate they are ready to move on, and when you lose 50 games thats not a sign you're headed in the right direction, so expect major changes.

Definitely not a test. But this year's draft pick definitely impacts the urgency in which they move. If they pick Green, I think they'll be more desperate to move Sexton before the season starts. The Knicks aren't under any pressure to make a move now. They can still sign Sexton after the season if they want. Of course, I'm not aware how many teams with cap space are interested in Sexton, so there's risk there as well.
