I do like Middleton, it’s been really interesting watching his rise since the Detroit trade- he was a throw in in a sign and trade of Brandon Jennings for Brandon Knight, both players of which are long gone.

The Detroit Pistons have filled another hole in their lineup by acquiring free-agent point guard Brandon Jennings in a sign-and-trade deal with the Milwaukee Bucks, a Pistons source told MLive.com.

To get Jennings, the Pistons sent Brandon Knight, Khris Middleton and Slava Kravtsov to the Bucks.

Your point is well taken. And should we mention superstar Giannis missed the last few games? The roster is well constructed and able to proceed even when the player considered their best goes down. Unlike say super friends teams Nets, Lakers, Clippers. Three of the last four teams standing were put together the “old fashioned” way. As opposed to the Labronna way.

...while they had key players injured.

You can analyze just about every championship to identify an element of "luck."

Exactly, injuries happened all the time. That’s just part of the sport.

Bucks win by a toe. It was that close.
Injuries always matter. Look back every year.
Luck? Toronto wins at the buzzer and Philly goes home. GSW breaks down. Durant and Klay.
Lesson? Always keep pushing and sometimes luck (Preparation and opportunity Colliding) happens.

PHX…….Core was drafted. Solid bubble performance last year. Did we forget they were undefeated? They had the capital to get Paul.
Kawahi got hurt. Tables kind of turned from two years ago.
Coach Bud might have been a big toe away from being fired. Now he going to the finals. Giannis is the x-factor.

This is an example of not blowing it up every time you have a disappointment in playoffs. If you stick with the same core group that is a perennial playoff team you never know what breaks you will get to put you in position to win a title.

The formula wasn't getting it done the last cpl years, this year they outlasted people and had the size to push around Atlanta. Lots of luck involved with landing a Giannis/Middleton from where they landed.

I think the formula for success is make smart choices and pray for good health.

Honestly, that might be the secret to a good life too, but let’s not get to deep with it.

Bucks upgraded from George Hill, Eric Bledsoe, Korver, Robin Lopez, Ilyasova and the corpse of Wesley Matthews for Jrue Holiday and PJ Tucker. Cost them a **** metric ton in draft capital though.

Defense is better. Holiday took control of the locker room. Injuries to other teams didn't hurt the Bucks situation any, but they are clearly a much better constructed team with better team chemistry. Portis, Forbes and DiVi all help with the floor spacing and Holiday is putting them in a position to help the team. Forbes was a huge pickup on the back end.

Forbes is making 2.3 million this year.

When Kevin Knox is sitting on the Knicks roster next year, eating up 6 million and a valuable roster spot to host Game Nights on Tuesday for the team and be a glorified cheerleader, NY could be spending that money, roster spot and minutes trying to find a good value/useful contributor (even with lots of limitations) like a Forbes.

IF Durants big toe did not cross the line would we be throwing all kinds of fan starphuch dreams that Bucks should trade us Giannis?
THat its all coach buds fault?
Why you can’t build thru the draft?
If Trae does not collide with Ref’s foot we then start calling Giannis the next Ben Simmons?
ATL was that good.
Nets were down two HOF all stars and damn near pulled it off.
Call it luck, call it being good enough, call it being consistent and deep.

Have to agree.

They were out in round one, but Davis and Lebron were injured, Murray, Leonard and a hobbled Giannis. Can’t take away the championship, but feels very much like when the Warriors one the year Love and Irving were injured.

You had two players in the offseason that weren’t properly valued, CP3 and Bogdanovic.

The Knicks need to find that player this offseason.
