Disposing of the Lakers even if they were wounded is a big deal. That they Get Denver next is a bigger test. Denver is more balanced without Murray and Jokic skill set played into what they needed near perfectly.
Rumors about Paul turning down 44mil is fascinating and we don’t know what’s up his sleeve.
What do we know? I doubt he is retiring but one never knows. We do know his family is still in LA and might consider Lebron family also. Lakers more than Clippers might have some room to maneuver and Paul might see it as a good fit to stay home with his kids and smooth out his contract over 2-3 years. Far less room to work with clippers. I don’t think his image will be tarnished at his age to join the lakers. They will not be reigning champions next season. CP3 marketing with StateFarm is a big deal for him.
Nalod just thinking out loud.
I don’t see any play here for the Knicks given his timeline and our team as its constructed. That could change of course.
Let’s talk about Kawahi and think the clips. I can’t imagine other than redundant history that the clips get taken out in 6 but damn if they are not up against the wall in Dallas. KP has his stage. Will he take it?
As for Leonard to the knicks I’d have to think the talent gain alone is worth it. He turns 30 in a few weeks and what do we get? How many years and how many player options does he demand and what is the effect of continuity/culture to be held hostage ever year or two? He missed 20 games this season and I’d expect he’d want to sit 25 or so next season. Thibs likes his ways and would have to adapt his rotation accordingly. Doable.

Anything can happen. Dwade is part owner of the Utah Jazz and has a prime time game show. Only in America.

Everything I see is that he is looking to take 3 years $100mm. I don’t really see the Suns helping the Lakers with a S&T, the Lakers don’t really have much to offer besides a re-signed Schroeder.

With the Suns advancing, feels like the Suns are a good option for him to re-sign.

We will see, though.

You know I gonna spin wit it

I agree that its a feel good situation for Paul and suns to stay. Let’s see how this season unfolds. If Paul gets hurt suns might be happy to let him walk too and add in other ways.
He has a player option. He can walk. I have not studied lakers full rosters cap or what they can do but all things the same Schroeder’s deal ends with 17mm coming off. That gets them half way there if both parties wanted this. Sign and trade not needed. It does help both if this is inevitable and they can mutually benefit.

If you add Kawhi to the Knicks without giving up Randle, RJ, Mitch and IQ, you are looking at a legitimate contender here. We lock up Kawhi and Randle, re-sign our own guys coming off rookie contracts and we have a nice 4 year contention window. Sign me up!

Hoping KP makes up for his treasonous act by dropping 40 on the Clips in game 7 and knocking them out of the playoffs, so that Kawhi considers coming to us.

I have mixed feeling. I hate rooting for the Mavs/KP. But if losing puts Kawhi on the market that's a positive, though it sounds like the Heat and Lakers would be the front runners and not us. At the end of the day, I think our chances of getting Kawhi are slim and none anyway so I'm rooting for the Mavs to go down.

I agree. The lower the Mav’s sink the Better we feel! Kawahi to NY is a long shot at best under any circumstances. Rooting for Mav’s to win so Kawahi leaves is a very conflicting. Plus it hurts our draft postion!
We can hope for a humiliating loss for Clippers in the next round!

There is ZERO chance Kawahi leaves LA to come here. He is from LA originally and that’s where he wants to be. As crazy as it sounds we actually have a way better shot at signing Lebron after next season since AD is an out of shape egg and it looks like the Lakers window closed

I’ll be rooting for the Clippers today
