Bully Randle =/ Spindarella. He has enough size to put pressure on guys like Collins at the rim and we've seen him do it time and time again.
first two games Collins got in foul trouble early.
This series reminds me a of NCAA march madness. teams with a one two punch get shut down and the rest of the team does not step up. ATL is is forcing randle into a double and we have no answers for it. Sure its easy to type the cure and Randle will break it on some plays but ATL will keep doing it as its working for most of the game. When OBI and our team starts moving fast it looks good but they are giving that to us and they know we can’t do it most of the game let alone thru a 7 game series. Its not what got us here. The notion Thibs got some magic gonna bring out Luka and Obi and unleash a new set is fun but really not gonna happen. I hope it does. Would be fun as hell. Or, Frank re-emerges for the 10th time and plays to his trajectory. But Disney don’t write game scenarios.
What was are seeing is why Anthony Mason and other Point power forwards eventually don’t sustain and win chips. I’m not saying what we did this year was anything less than a qualified success but we all know deep in our hearts this was likely as good as it got and had hoped for a nice first round win. Randle himself cannot lead us as we are built. He is not Lebron, and if he was pippen he’d still be just Robin and barret is not Batman yet. This is the NBA and any team an beat another on any given night. If Burks gets hot we are good. But there is a reason he is a bench player and as much as we dig him, and Bullock there are limitations. Barrett is the future of this club. The future is not here.
Sounds about right. Barret by 25 should be a 23-25 ppg player once he becomes automatic in a mid range game and continues as a 40 percent 3 point shooter. He also needs to work on his off hand drives. He will reach 20 ppg just by the refs giving him the calls he doesn’t get now.
But like you said the player with the “it” factor is not yet on the roster.
