We have to pay particular attention to these players now. Last offseason proved that. It’s just the way it is.

Likely trade targets:
- Malcolm Brogdon and TJ Warren in Indiana
- Collin Sexton
- Jaren Jackson Jr
- Jalen Brunson

Free agent options:
- Devonte Graham
- Will Barton
- Josh Hart
- Tony Snell
- Torrey Craig
- Ish Smith
- JJ Redick
- Daniel Theis

If I missed a few I’m sorry but I wanted to keep it with the most realistic targets as we have to assume some of these names will be linked the to Knicks this summer. Who do you like ?

Devonte Graham seemed to finally turn it around in the second half of season so he might be worth a look on a very short term deal. He’s still an impressive passer when his shot isn’t falling so that will be useful provided he dosent pull an EP on us.

Seems like Sexton might be obtainable, maybe for picks, though it seems his teammates find him quite a selfish player. I could see Rose etc deciding after watching Trae Young this series and deciding we need one of those.

I don't get the Brunson hype from Knick fans, seems like a Chris Childs level PG to me.

just by looking at his stats alone he seems to have the offensive punch we need. Sexton.

Half joking but maybe we need a selfish player to take the ball away from Randle sometimes lol 😅

His stats say he believes in his abilities

So we just have to work on his personality because he can obviously play basketball lol

Half joking

CAA or not, Agents are employed by the players. Money and what’s best for their career is what matters.
Leon and WWW are influential but to what extent? The Kentucky thing was a path for a Hs player to the NBA and for the 5 players a year that was great. Thats was to get them in and up thru the draft. Players still had to put in the work and demonstrate ability.
Now we talking Free agents and its the incumbent team that has the leverage first, then the player.
I read that Tim Hardaway jr, a free agent has the same agent as Luca. If Luca wants Timmy then its seen as “better pay Timmy or his agent will mess Dallas up”. Really? What if Dallas thinks NOrman Powell is better for the team. Luca might think so as well upon further thought. If LUcas agent puts Timmy above Lucas better interests he should get fired. I keep reading this CAA stuff but the logic is sometimes lost on me as if the agent and agency has way too much power.
What is more important than anything is the culture shift with competent people running Knicks. Not the previous CAA connections. For all we know CAA might be pissed Leon and WWW left (they got paid) but Leon might start his own gig again if Knicks don’t pan out.

I’m all for any advantage but Knicks should be looking at the best players for their team regardless of CAA affiliations. I don’t understand how that helps. Brunson has a long relationship with Leon that goes way back. That I get.
Its been mentioned that Frank is being punished for firing CAA 2 years ago. Thats silly, we’d have traded him by now if so. Not saying he sticks but sabotage a career would be a bad look. If anything I see Frank have been given opportunities in this regime.

Naw, Brunson is a few levels above Child's. Aside from one fluke season in NJ, Child's was barely above replacement for most of his career. I think Brunson would make an impact for the Knicks if they had him right now. Brunson can shoot, get in the paint and run PnR.

The CAA guy I like is Reggie Jackson. He's 30 and has overcome some early injuries to play every game 2 out of the past 3 seasons. He's a significant upgrade over Payton as a starter. He makes most sense If the Knicks resign Bullock, Rose, Burks, Noel. If the Knicks do that, Jackson could fit with a salary around 10 million, a big pay raise. Jackson has useful play off experience as well.

He's a great option on a bloated 1 year deal. Especially if the Knicks decide to invest significantly in a wing upgrade (DeRozan or Powell for example) and just go PG-by-committee with Jackson, Rose, Quickley, and Vildoza.

Not a CAA guy, but I think Rozier fits what Thibs likes from a PG, so would like us trying a stop gap this offseason until he becomes a FA next offseason.

My dream offseason would be something like

Trade for Lillard

Sign Rose/Graham, Barton/Reddick

Yes I think not offering him a multi year contract 2 years ago was a huge mistake. I’ve been a huge fan of him for some time. I love his versatility. He plays 2 positions, can really shoot, and defend. The knock on him is he simply isn’t a star level player at any particular thing.

Chris Childs talent, Sprewell's energy, and Camby's defense took the Knicks on a long winning streak to get us to the 8th seed, then the trio took us to the FINALS!
Brunson nor Sexton performance could touch Childs dynamic talent at the PG position.

True, but he has shown impressive work ethic and development and just has guts- I remember he even stepped it up in the first playoffs he went to- we need more players that can do that after watching the Atlanta series!
