Rumor that Colby Altman in Clev in the hot seat. Brock Aller was Dan Gilberts assistant for Clev for like 16 years and rose thru the system.
During Covid he kept his family in clev and commuted back and forth. He recently sold his house and got his family in NY which I believe was a big reason to come here. His wife from NY also? Not sure on the demographics.
Brock is not even the Assistant GM here. Rumor that Gilbert would want him as GM. Thats a big job to have for him and clev on paper is not as god awful as the record should be. The coaching that was a debacle last year and likely falls on Altman. Gilbert is a dick. One that has had a stroke and not in the best of health which I empathize. I thought Gilberts other children were involved in the team. Dude has the money to throw at Aller to make all his drams come true.
Windhorst insisted last week, but did not report Scott Perry continues with a new contract.
Brock Aller is not the only guy that can do the cap thing. I suppose him leaving does not leave a hole other than it would have been fun to see what he could have done going forward. Not sure why Gilbert did not lock Aller up more or give him a better path to GM. Again, family situation is why Aller came to NY. Perhaps he don’t love Gilbert as much as Gilbert loves him?? I don’t know.
Seems our coaches are intact other than Woodson leaving. I suspect we made Bryant no. 2 for a reason. Knicks success will make him a head coaching target one of these days on top of his own resume prior.
As long as he is here the Dame or Dmitchel rumors will always come up. I hope Bryant is here long enough to add IQ, RJ and others to his star making cred!!!
