Saw this the other day. The torn meniscus recovery is probably something the Grizz will keep an eye out for. Perhaps they dangle him during the summer or early next season? What would you be willing to give up for him?

And what would Memphis WANT.

Prob starts with at least Obi. Maybe they would also want a resigned Mitch at a certain salary.

I thought he was a 4? Never seen him play C but if that’s his game then I agree. Mitch + Obi for him would be a good deal but Tbh don’t know too much about him. Just the thought of a two way center that spaces the floor is mouth watering. They’re an absolute rarity in the league.

If it takes obi, Knox and Robinson-I'll go in with the trade. He fits perfectly beside randle

Toppin is an inch or two shorter and in two years will be equivalent. I don’t get it.. also he only makes 5.3m amd we have control over his contract for 3 more seasons. I Havnt seen this player much but I don’t get it. Just seems like a move to be making moves.

Would be playing center as a stretch 5?

Would he be coming off the bench?

Maybe if I seen him play more I would get it lol

Robinson for this player 1 for 1. 1 damage goods for the other. We can throw in Knox for a number 2 also lol jk

I rather keep OBI. People are sleeping on him and I think he will be very good next year and has not had a major injury.

There’s been a rumor that the Grizzlies have some doubts about Jackson, but I think it’s just a rumor. Jackson is one of the better young players in the league and I honestly don’t believe they would give him for enything other than a really good young player.

Otherwise he is a player who can absolutely play both PF and C. He is very agile for a tall player, has a good shot for three (although this season the percentage is actually quite bad) and is a good shot blocker. In addition he can put the ball to the floor and even has OK dribbling. In principle, he is not a bad defensive player either, although he still fouls a little too much. The downside is that he is not a good rebound for his position. But in any case he has the skillset needed for a modern tall player and I'm pretty sure that if the Grizzlies wanted to trade him, they would expect to get RJ, and not Mitch, which of course is out of the question for us.

Agree. Good points

RJ will either be a stud or a wonderful Robyn.

JJJ is a very intriguing player if there is a chance to get him without trading away RJ or Randle il be listening. I believe his defense will improve under Thibs. Alot of us was not a fan of Obi prior to the draft because of his defense but under Thibs he has been respectable.

If we can get Lonzo, Graham, Lowry to be our starting PG to join JJJ, Randle RJ Bullock/Burks, that might be a legit top 4 team in the east so long as they maintain their depth which is one of the major stregths of this team this year.

Yep. He's still pretty young and he might be the second best player on the team if he played for the Knicks this season. If the Grizzlies are willing to entertain trades, then Jackson's medicals must be scary.

Two factors are Dr Callahan and JJ’s dad. He can give her his sons X-rays and charts so no guess work likely. Kid want to play in same city as his pops? Maybe. Not always a given really. I’d hate working with my pops back in the day. Love the man but not every day........
If Memphis has doubts then its not like we have to rape Memphis. Give them a 1st round, obi and a future 2nd rounder. What’s our conviction rate for JJJ? Coach Payne gonna watch a lot of tape and really we’d have to have a sit down with him and get his take.
Its an interesting proposition. Memphis might like him but see his fragility as an issue or timeline is not in synch with what’s going on. Ain’t in type of Grizzly bear in the state of Tennessee.
Factoid........Fed Ex sponsors the arena. Back in the day when they moved from Vancouver they wanted to names the team “Express”. Stern and the league at the time did not want that type of corp. integration. “The Express” is not a bad team name. Better than “Grizz”. Not sure why The Football Cardinals don’t call themselves “The FireBirds”. They play in PHoenix for goodness sake!
I suppose long standing names just become the fabric of a town. Utah Jazz outside of NOLA always topical.
Cleveland Indians are changing their name and its rumored it might revert to its prior name “Spiders”. I think “Rocks” would be weird but its wired to “Clevelend Rocks” song and rock and roll hall of fame. I’d go with “Spiders”, “Rocks” a bit to much for me.

Oh yea, JJJ............Perhaps its on Leons grease board in his office. Intriguing type of move.

No way Memphis is trading this kid...but for entertainment purposes, I would definitely pull the trigger on a RJ/Jaren Jackson swap but only if the Knicks have something in place to trade one of Robinson/Noel somewhere for a SF to replace Barrett.

As long as obi can prove to play with Randle, that's the only way he will get playing time

If he can't do that he will forever be a 12 minute back up for randle
